deer are scarce again this year!

someone on Facebook recently posted a pic of 3 four legged cougars in their yard, that's not all that far from home! I'm still only seeing the odd few small does around here. Same as last year. I hear it's going to be a mild winter with very little snow.

I haven't seen a single one yet from the stands but have seen a handful of does off the roads. One small spike buck and lots of wolf tracks in the Sandilands area. Grouse numbers are pathetic there as well.

Fairly common occurrence in Transcona.. :p Lol

Out hunting right now and just checked my cams. Couple nice bucks hitting the scrape after dark, but the only movement during legal hours has been in the last few minutes of the evening.

Every time I come out here (sandilands) it's the same, plenty of fresh wolf / coyote tracks and I have only seen 3 birds so far this year.

was out in the Sandilands 2 weeks ago must have seen a dozen birds in a few hours. I was only able to take 3.... But seems a lot more than the last couple years especially last year where I only saw 3 all season. It was the first year I can remember going home with an empty bag. up up to 6 sofar this year, 4 ruffles and 2 spruce( I still eat but not my fav)

Weird. Last year was one of my best, I would either limit out or close to every trip. This year I have seen about half dozen and got one. This is after many many hours of driving/walking trails. Probably spent about $500 in gas and got 6onces of meat.lol
