I have a number of wheelguns but the S&W's proved a delight to mount a scope base on and then install a red dot or reflex sight for minimal cost. I took off the rear sight on my 617 and with calipers measured the distance between the holes. Off to WS and starting measuring Weaver bases. Found out that a Weaver 36M. #4850 Matte for $5.89 fits right into the two forward rear sight screws. Set it on top, tightened the screws and placed the red dot on top. Recently I got a 686 Pro from a fellow nutter and wondered if the drill pattern was the same, and wouldn't you know, it is. So off to WS for another Weaver base and on went the reflex sight. I like it!

Thought this might help some of you guys scope your handguns out there. Much more accurate now and I love the low cost.
