Weight - Beretta 686 Silver Pigeon 1 Field

I would like to know the real weight of a 12 gauge Beretta 686 Silver Pigeon 1 Field with 28 inch barrels. Beretta does not list it on their site (and a lot of manufacturers low ball the number for some reason) and I have seen numerous different weights on various websites. Perhaps someone who has one wouldn't mind weighing theirs. I am looking for a light weight over/under for field use. Thanks.
 
These guns are usually around 7-7.5 lbs depending on the wood density it could vary greatly. They are definitely light for a 12ga O/U but weights will differ from gun to gun.
 
I see what you're doing....you're looking for a light 12g under 7 lbs. Well if you have $3000 to burn, you can get an ugly Benelli 828. You can also have a look at the Browning Citori Superlight feather or the Franchi's like we talked about in the past. If you want the lightest, the Franchi is the way to go. Best bang for your buck will be the Browning. if you have money to burn on an oddity, the Benelli is for you. All this assuming fit is proper of course
 
The Benelli 828 is not for me simply due to its looks. I will have to take a look at the Browning and shoulder it to see if it fits. The Franchi Instinct SL is on the radar as well. Does anyone know if the Beretta 687 weighs the same, more or less than the 686?

If we end up doing that SxS shoot, I can bring the Franchi I have in my possesion for you to check fit. Its a Renaissance, but its basically an Instinct with a nicer engraved receiver. Fit will be the same
 
Though not a 12, I'd be tempted buy the 16g 28" Browning Super lightweight feather on consignment at Profit. Held the 20g version with 26" tubes last week. Very nice and light. A 16g with an english stock and 28" barrel would make a classic and versatile field gun if the ammo doesn't scare you away.
