Not sure if this belongs here or in the Gunsmithing section, but here goes. I have a Savage BVSS Mk II. It worked great for several thousand rounds, then, all of a sudden, it stopped extracting shells. I gave is a good cleaning, removed the extractors, cleaned the bolt, no resolution. I contacted Grech Outdoors, and the lady was super nice. Less than a week later, I had a whole new extractor/ejector kit. No better. I figured it might be the mag, although for the life of me, I couldn't see how, but that is not the issue. I tried several kinds of ammo, all the same result. Help??????

did you try cleaning the barrel chamber out really good? could be still all fouled up chamber area making the brass stick in there! or a tiny bur somehow?

I also find that some brands stick in chambers worse then others, target/match stuff seems to extract fine but bulk blazer etc (which is supposed to be decently consistent/accurate) sometimes sticks in my Norinco NS522 and Savage FVSR...

I have also found that sometimes if I cycle the bolt just split seconds after a shot (as to take a follow-up shot) that some ammo sticks more, but will extract fine if it cools for even a second or 2. <-- I don't know this happens sometimes but it does in my NS522.

edit_ sorry I re-read 'and you gave it a good cleaning'. what kinds of ammo?

I cleaned the barrel very well. I will try paying more attention to the chamber area, but it sticks 90% plus of the time, with the 10 to 15 different types of ammo I've tried, from subsonics to hyperV's

My BSEV did that after a few thousand rounds. I got a new c-clip (the one that goes around the bolt and holds the extractor, pin and ejector) and I installed it over the old one. It does not fit perfectly but it gives more power to the system and since then I have had no more problems.

Hmmm! I'll give that a try. Thx.

My savage had the same issue, I pulled the c-clip off and pinched it a bit and problem solved. I think the c-clip get spread loose and will not let the extractor hold tightly onto the rim.
