So before I left for work (and before the election) I purchased my first pistol. I picked up a FNH FNS9L. I am working for another 2 weeks but in the mean time I need to figure out a method of transport for it. The stock hard case that comes with it doesn't allow a typical trigger lock. I cannot use a cable lock either as once the slide is back it won't fit.

So, is there an amazing low profile trigger lock out there that I am not aware of? Or, can you recommend me an alternative case that is relatively inexpensive. I know I could get a pelican or something, but what else is there. I have seen the Canadian tire has some mastercraft pelican style cases but cannot remember if they lock. I am completely open to suggestions from seasoned handgun veterans. Thanks for your time.

i bought one of those plastic metal looking cases for my pistol that you can cut out the foam with by yourself, fits my gun, trigger locked, 4 mags, etc. look for one of those

On the CT theme, they also have an aluminum tool case (briefcase-like) that works well, especially if you are going to transport multiple pistols, mags etc. The foam needs some finesse in order to only remove a "layer" so that the bottom of the gun remains padded, but overall it only took me a few minutes to make it work for 3 pistols, mags and a bunch of related items. If I had planned a bit better, I could have fit 4 pistols + mags in there.

The pic doesn't show the pick-and-pluck that comes with the case (make sure you get the foam!). I added an extra layer on top using that cheap "bed topper" convoluted foam to really cushion my lovelies. They like it!

Got it for under $20 on sale, which is at least 4x/year. Currently on sale for $28.

I got the ugly CT label off with a combo of vegetable oil, kerosene and a plastic putty knife. Score the label, soak it with veggie oil for a few hours, scrape, then finish up with kerosene.

Princess Auto sells the Pelican clone impact resistant tool box. http://www.princessauto.com/en/detail/10-in-impact-resistant-tool-box/A-p8486003e Comes in 3 sizes and you can also throw in your ammo and small tools into this case. Don't forget your trigger lock. I have the 22" size and can carry my 3 pistols, ammo, tools, spotting scope,, earmuffs and glasses. It will be heavy though with all these stuff. Better to get the roller version if you will be carrying a lot. Buy once and enjoy shooting.
