After waiting 6 years in the draw I got my Mule deer tag and was able to get a deer I see on a regular basis coyote hunting. I had another buck targeted which was bigger, pushing 200 plus but didn't have the patience and was loosing my drive. Now I can get back to my true passion of shooting coyotes and putting fur up. Big thanks to the Sask farmers out there who allow hunters to on their land, you guys rock!!!!

Here is my whitetail buck I took a few days later with my T/C Impact. I gotta say for a cheap muzzleloader its actually very accurate, light and dependable. I rattled and grunted this guy in to 100 yards, he was hell bent on getting in on the buck fight he thought was happening in his area. I find calling in deer the most rewarding experience in deer hunting, crosses over from my love of calling coyotes I guess. Any way, this buck is no means big for our area but non the less he will taste good and Im done deer hunting before the nasty weather rolled in.

Now that's a nice mulie! Well done. Just got out for a couple days myself, but in an unknown area. We didn't have any luck.

I second your thanks to the kind farmers out there, it would make it VERY hard for a lot of us to hunt if it wasn't for them!

just a question: does the meat from a mule deer taste any different than from a white tail? I grew up in SK and my Dad and my Uncles hunted and we ate a lot of venison back in the 50's. I did collect many antlers from the wall in the machine shop when the farm got sold and one set was a lot different than most others. I suspect it was from a mule deer.

Beautiful deer! Congratulations! Two dogs, I have about equal numbers of Mule and Whitetail on my land, I don't notice much different either way when they eat the same stuff. Old rutted up bucks are a bit more likely to be "off" if Mule deer, but some WT aren't much good in that condition either. it's just the difference between enjoying steaks or sausage, and the ground meat is always good in Spaghetti sauce anyway.

I find they taste different then whitetail, they taste like sage,,this one really stunk too. He's going 100% garlic sausage lol.

Beautiful buck, I would crawl over crushed glass in my undies for a opportunity on a buck like that. In the 44yrs I have been hunting deer I have never had an opportunity at a decent white tail buck. But I am still on the top side of the grass and out there so it is not over yet.

Congratulations.

Nice job! Congrats on the wall hanger!!

Took me 8 years to get my B&C Mulie when I lived in the peace region of BC. Although I spent more time after sheep and elk. Lol
