YAY! Passed my written and practical exams for Non-restricted and Restricted today!! Now just got to take a firearms license photo, get a few signatures, fill some info and mail it off!! Cheers!!
P.S. A big thank you to the Silvercore guys! All three guys are super fun to talk to, and all are great instructors! Never had so much fun in a class, hope to see you guys again real soon after my honeymoon!!
Hi there, first time poster and just joined the site. Just wanted to throw in my recent experience with getting my rpal. waited the 45 days as stated on RCMP website. They said they are behind on making the calls to your guarantor. Could take up to 1-2 months for them to get to it. They suggested having the guarantor call them for the interview. They gave me the number, extension for them to call. my guarantor did it the next day, checking 20 hrs later online and it was approved, 8 days later, in my mailbox. Sweet. Just bought my Tavor, Glock 17 and will see you all at the range. (with the wife, she did Silver Core with me and bought a M&P9)
Still alive - Thank you sir! You know what, that's exactly what the guys at Silvercore suggested too. I'm actually really interested in buying WWI/WWII rifles and coach guns (side by side shotguns), but yes will start with .22 firstAnd talk about black and loud, I'm planning to buy a civil war era percussion rifle musket in the future too, always liked that part of the history of our southern neighbor. And wow $5000 guns? What might these be?!
Jmassecar - Your wife is cool using a bow, should I get my fiancée t start with one too? She's just really nervous with firearms, or even knives... I was told the other day to put our fruit knifes in the kitchen a certain way, just literally to avoid being accidentally cut.
As for scary tattooed guys, sure they exist on the range but they either leave you alone or are more than happy to share their guns with you. Don't let stereotypes fool you.
^^^This, always happy to let others shoot off a few mags of anything I've brought out. It usually results in me getting to shoot a few of theirs. Win win for everyone!
I got my card guys!! Thank you all so much!!
