Hey Deckard hows that scope holding up; its not sticking out as far as many scopes over the ejection port, but must still catch ejecting cases fairly often? What make and model is that and do you recommend it? Does look like the end cap plastic will offer some impact protection.
I had a scope on mine that I had to use a shell deflector as it hit the bottom of the scope without it. Deflector worked, but was flimsy so I have changed my setup yet again and am looking for a shorter scope preferably illuminated with a 1-4 or 1-6 zoom.
Yea if it does kick the brass up and slightly to the right, it will ding the hell out of the mounting rings and part of the sight. I recommend putting duck tape or something to pad it in the mean time. Nice build though!
He might have bigger problems than simply dinging the scope. I had a scope that hung half-way over the receiver and casings would occasionally bounce back into the breech and cause jams.
I did manage to jimmy together a shell deflector but it wasn't 100% and I couldn't get it to be solidly mounted.
It was to big of a pain in the butt to find a left hand bolt carrier so I bought some twins from BULLS EYE SPORT that already came with them. Meet the twins. Can't wait to trick them out.
