What is a "North America Arms - Grizzly no. 10 .22LR" on the barrel
the receiver is also marked "Anschutz"

It has the Proof marks but no yr number behind it. and no letters in the serial number.

Single shot bolt with safety and bottom slide Extractor.

what is the import story on these and what yrs. of production?

The grizzly No10 is as you describe: Single shot .22lr made in Toronto. There is a repeater version (the 20), and also a .22wmr version.

I've not seen one marked Anschutz before. They did sell through stores, and have been marked tru-line, and were also marked by Globe. Without a picture, it's kind of a guess, but is it possible you have an Annie receiver mated to a NAACO barrel? The Safety on the NAACO is kind of distinctive, as it's a curved piece that slides all the way under/around the receiver.

If it's a NAACO, there wouldn't be much of an import story, as it was made in Toronto. Post some pics for more detailed info.

My money is on a it being a project that someone put together, either to use some parts they had one hand, or to #### around the registry folks to send them off trying to figure out how to classify it with the different names on it.

Post pictures. Clear ones, if you want them to be used to give you useful info.

Does not match the truline reciever. This receiver is impressed with the Anschutz logo and a proofmark. The barrel has two different depth of markings. The "no. 10" is shallower that the depth of the other words that surround it. Is it possible to be a Anschutz no 10 that an importer then labeled for import laws.

Some good old fashion home style gun smithing. North American Arms was in business from 1905 to 1954 as documented through Archives Canada. If you jump onto the Anschutz GmbH website, it will give you a history of the company and the different dates they started using different logos. The Anschultz logo on your rifle was established in late 1955. Stock is Anschutz but the front sight is from neither company. I had to open up my locker and compare a couple of my Anschutz's with a couple of my North American Arm's just to be sure. No collector value here. Shoot it if you intend to keep it. It is really a $20 parts gun so if someone who doesn't care about the mishmash of parts and is willing to pay you $80 to $100, take it, run and don't look back.
 
That Anschutz receiver looks to me like the older Flobert action. Not the same quality than their 64 or 54 actions.

I will likely traded it to a little brother of mine for set of stirrups. To good a shooter to part out. And not a collector. So keep it in the family just not my collection.

Had it been a full anschutz what would a fair real value be for that model?

Not very much, as that action is the crappy bulk single shot 'cheap' version that they made a very large number of, and even in near perfect shape they don't draw much attention.

To be worth anything, as an Anshutz, the desirable models are the 54 action and the 64 action (to a lesser extent) with the 54 by far and away the more desirable of those.

I would say that it is not worth less now than if it were all original, which is to say, it's worth whatever a decent shooting single shot gun of no particular provenance, is worth.

Try and find or buy a bolt for one of these.
Shoot it and enjoy it.
No one has an identical one to it.................. :wave:
