ACR Media and Info Thread

Thanks so much! Sounds like a good winter project for me. Will get in touch with you :)
I can hook you up with a guy that will build you a 300BLK barrel and I can help you set it up. It requires you to cut an op rod down to carbine length though so you'd need to order one of those if you wanted to keep the 223 conversion functional. Buying the rest of the gas system and the barrel nut and handle makes things much easier as well if you plan to swap back and forth regularly.
Once I do some function testing with the 6.8 conversion I may sell the barrel and bolt. Won't be cheap though as I would sell it as a package with barrel, bolt, and mags. It uses standard mid length gas system though so no ordering parts :)

Little update on the 30 Remington AR conversion

Another piece showed up for it today

Hey Everyone,

I wanted to share a few pictures of my newly acquired NR ACR.

The barrel was done by Herron Arms and is a Krieger 1/9" Twist. The Optics are an EOTech XPS 2-0 and G23 FTS Magnifyer. Also has the Geissele Super ACR Trigger.

Let me know what you think!

Wow.... It's look like a ###y girl :) i loved it.

man I would always buy the ACR back in the call of duty days LOL. never really thought about owning one until I came into this thread =p
I'm thinking about getting into an ACR as well, there are a few on EE for about $2100-2200. Was thinking about grabbing one of them and then the NR barrel from Arms East and doing the NR conversion. My buddy also has one that's already NR, but he still has to get back to me on a price.

they are coming down in price finally, It helps that they were sold new on this site for $2175 by a Vendor

Oh wow, that's quite a bit lower than what they used to sell for, guess that must have been some sort of special promotion or sale? I know they sort of retail for about $2500 or so right now, and Arms East mentioned that the price will increase soon. Figure I better make a decision soon.

Arms east had a sale, our bad dollar is driving the price up.

Well, I just bought one of these (ACRs), might be here in a week or so. Not nearly as much aftermarket support as what I'm used to (ARs), talk about night and day.

Would be nice to find some handguards like these:

WE MSK rails

but no such luck. I hear some people are adapting Air Soft handguards to their ACRs.....some say it's kind of sketchy, others swear by it.

Will have to do a bit more research and studying up.

I used to play airsoft, *generally* speaking, as long as there isnt too much heat or pressure, a lot of airsoft accessories will work swimmingly for real steel.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking, but a couple of pages back, someone was throwing on a PTW (airsoft) handguard on their ACR so I was wondering about that. Also got pages and pages of guys over at ACRforums using this WE MSK handguard on theirs. Clandestine has a handguard manufactured specifically for the ACR, but $300 USD is kind of a kick in the balls at the moment......not to mention who knows how long the wait list is, and if you can bring it into Canada at all.

Ah fuk it, I'll just play with it the way it is and enjoy it the way it was made. Might go for that NR think through Dlask though. I know Arms East has those new NR barrels for these for $399 or whatever, anyone here try one of those out yet?

Let me start off by saying I hate air soft junk. Well with the complete lack of support for the ACR from bushmaster we're left with few options. So I said I'll give it a try it's only less than $100 if it breaks melts oh well. At least I get to see how the magpul hand guard feels. I found a FDE one in stock. Couldn't find black. It went right on no problem. I was concerned about the front end where it attaches to rifle is just in the plastic. But it seems fine so far. I had it out. Put couple hundred rounds through. Couple beo mags rapidly just to see if it would get hot. It didn't. All in all I'm happy with it. I ordered the longer version. It'll have to do until I can get the real deal. If anybody finds it in black let me know. I'll take one. I was thinking I have an extra cheek rest I might send out to have cerakoted FDE. It might look all right then
