Thoughts on Nikon scopes

I got that run around a couple years ago for the same reasons.... But mine were leupolds. I didn't throw them out tho hehehe still in my closet somewhere

Korth will fix them..... you just have to pay for the repairs and sometimes that's more then a new one would cost you. I sent in a redfield revolution that was bought at bass pro in Vaughn that I dropped out of a tree stand and needed a new body because it was bent. I didn't know at the time that bass pro imported on there own and not threw Korth, well 260$ later I had my scope back and it still has no warranty......... if it needed more for repairs it would have easily cost more then a new one. if I would have known what it was going to cost I would have told them to keep it for parts and went out and bought a new one.

by the way I do like my Nikon's. from pro staff, pro staff II and buckmaster's up to monarch's like them all and haven't had a problem with any of them.

I have a Monarch 3 with Nikoplex reticle and SF. It really tracks well and has reasonably clear lenses which gather a good amount of light.

On the other hand it is a bit on the heavy side and I found that in certain light conditions (sunlight from the side) there is quite a glare on the eyepiece lens which seem to be intensified due the greenish lens coating.

Another thing I noticed is that the SF adjustment doesn't seem to do much. Focusing the target is much more pronounced (image gets sharper) with other SF scopes I own. I'm not talking about parallax...

exactly the reason they sit in my closet..... I was made aware of the probable cost when I enquired with them some time ago. Due to that, I just can't be bothered. I'm not trashing leupold, it is what it is and I'm okay with it. That said, I don't get the hype and I've looked thru quite a few of them.
what I do find interesting is the huge amount of vortex and leupold scopes continually flooding the EE. I don't get how a quality optic can be so readily available used...... makes no sense to me, when I find a quality item that is better than all the the others in that price point..... the LAST thing I do is sell it at a loss on the EE.
ya get my drift?
I see VERY FEW Nikon scopes turning thru the mill that is the EE
I'm not trying to be a Nikon fanboy either but I have one, I have hunted hard with it this year , box tested it, will absolutely buy another.
