Ok I'm going to start off by saying that nothing ever has to be practical to be fun and "because I can" is all the reason anybody ever needs to own a gun so with all due respect I am wondering wtf this would be good for? It looks totally bad ass don't get me wrong but with such a short barrel....

That's pretty expensive for a tactical pack gun , the novelty would wear off and then you'd be the one hoping to get your money back out of it.

Just my opinion

Value wise it's not bad.

The gun itself would be $850 new from Dlask, assUme'ing they still build 6.5" barrels apon request, the Mesa Urbino stock is $160, plus all the rest.

I just wonder if its over 26" long in that configuration?

Yeah the seller says its 26.5" so it just makes the cut for NR no way in hell would I even consider if it was restricted lol

Home defense w/bean bag rounds.... I wouldn't want to kill any zombies ;)

If you have the extra cash to play with ; it might be an interesting conversation piece......but with a barrel that short , it would have very few uses other than being an emergency pack gun with limitations......

If you get this PLEASE post pics and a range report! I bet its going to bark and have an epic muzzle flash lol

I just read some where that a barrel this short has a dramatic effect of the velocity of the round coming out of it? Personally my pack gun would be some thing in the 12-14" range of barrel, and after running a Mesa tactical M4 style stock and handgrip I realized that for me a pack gun has to be streamlined, able to actually be pulled out of a pack with out snagging and with a barrel just long enough there is no chance I'm going to put my hand in front of it. Just my two cents.

But as a fun range gun to make a hell of a Big Bang and piss off the guy with a .50cal next to you who normally makes every one else deaf. Sounds like fun!

IIRC with a 6.5" barrel you get only 900 fps velocity from rounds rated at 1300 fps like typical full power 00 buck, while a slug rated at 1600 fps will do only 1180 fps or so.

Haha, I’ve been eyeing that one for a while and to me, it’s a $hits and giggles at the range gun, much like the 8.5in. I have a 12.5in and it already throws huge fireballs. Makes the majority of folks on the line collectively poo their pants a little when you toss out 3in mag slugs out of it.

I say if you have a grand kicking around, get it so I don’t have to, lol!

Even with a 12.5" bbl you've already lost some velocity, but that isn't actually the worst part. I've been playing a bit more with my 12.5" shorty (and no, not for sale... love the thing in spite of its limitations) compared to an 18.5" cylinder bore, and the spread is almost double at 10 yards with bird or buckshot.

The stopping power of shot against anything larger than a game bird comes from the amount of shot that impacts within a relatively small space. Start spreading out that pattern, and even if the shot is travelling at the same velocity, it will have less effect because less shot will impact the target, and even if it does all connect, the force will be distributed over a wider area, greatly reducing the effect.

Still a dang cool shotgun, though. And as for the $1K asking price - probably fair, for the quality of gun and parts you're getting. Comparing the Blue Line or DLask shorties to a DA grizzly is... No comparison. A DA Grizzly is a Ford. It'll do the job reliably. A DLask or a Blue Line is a Porche - it'll do the job reliably, quickly, and with style.

My 12.5" Dlask barrel throws much tighter patterns than my 18.5 IC choke barrel does, but then I believe it has a lengthened forcing cone and a fixed Modifed choke.

Velocity loss with a 12.5" isn't major, inside of 50 fps with most loads when compared to a riot length barrel. The muzzle blast is pretty stunning though, for a lot of people that gets old quickly.
