should I change my sako fiberclass in .338 winmag to a .300 win mag or should I sell it and buy a sako 85 finnlight in model 85? that is my dilemma.

Just handload some 185 or 210 ttsx through it and tell yourself it's a 300 win mag. No real difference if you shoot lighter bullets in the 338
I prefer the fibreclass over the finlight 10x over.

Those Fiberclass Sako rifles were (are) fantastic. The design of that McMillan stock fit me so perfectly that my .338 was an absolute dream to shoot. I'd keep the Fiberclass too, although they do have some heft to them.

By all means get a new rifle for the fun of it, but your "old" rifle is a very good one, I'd say a keeper. You will likely shoot your fiberclass rifle better than a Finnlight. It has enough weight to settle in to the shot better. Also consider that far too many of the Sako 85's have trouble with ejecting empties up into the scope rather than to the side where they should. I know this from experience.

Load up 71gr of H4350 and some 210TTSX and shoot away. Forget the .300wm...
