Hello I might be buying a mauser and was wondering if someone with knowledge woud be willing to trade email or text with me today as I have value questions?

Thank you

The best thing for you to do is post as much detail and as many photos as you can on this thread and a few people will weigh in with their valuations.

What price do you value this? Came with everything pictured including case, trigger lock, bayonet, sling and pouch. From what I can see it is mismatched but everything look to be in very good condition.

Serial number on bolt handle for one, distinctly Yugo. Plus serial number stamped in butt perpendicular to bore axis, another Yugo trait. Is there a barrel code stamped on the barrel just ahead of the receiver? If not the Yugos have rebarreled it as well. Should be a good shooter.

Yugo refurb. Notice too that on the Yugo refurbs they buff (looks like emery cloth or sandpaper marks/abrasion on the metal) the top of the receiver where the markings are making the metal thinner - Note the faint WaA marking on top caused from this.
Also the 3154 stamped on the Yugo refurb stock, not done by the Germans.

Sling is a new repro.

Nice looking Rifle.

Time for a K98 Tidbit on Steyr K98 rifles made in Austria. (The bnz code)

You may wonder why they put a period ( . ) at the end of the bnz. marking.

The Germans did that so it is read b n z and not z u q , like reading a sentence.

Whale oil... nah, better not! Well, I'll be darned! That is a neat tidbit. Thank you!

Nice rifle. The fact that it is a Yugo refurb doesn't diminish the goodness of that rifle. Check the rifling to be sure it got cleaned if fired with some ugly old surplus ammo. If it is still shiny, give it a swipe with a dose of FLUID FILM and hang a tag on it "Clean bore firing" and date. I have been using Fluid Film for 20+ years and haven't had a rifle corrode yet. But what do I know! :p

Can't see no dirty bird on there... May not even be a good shooter - too spiffy looking for that. Probably $400 at the most. I would not buy it for that though...

I guess you probably wouldn't buy a rc one for more then 200$ and wouldn't pay more then 40$ for a sks?

The way I see it the rc one retail for 600+ then you have the tax and on top of that I got a bayonet(120$+?) ,case, trigger lock, sling and pouch

rally guy, you have a nice rifle there. Don't be put off by the negative replies. They don't seem to making these rifles any more, do they? It has a nice trail of history to it. My go to shooter 8mm is a beat up, ugly old M48. Most of my Mausers are gun room queens, although I have managed to fire most of them. I wouldn't bat an eye at buying a rifle like yours.

Thank you, i was under the impression I had a fair find. I knew this wasn't a 2000$ collectable but seeing the rc one sell for 500-650$ for all I got with it I think I am ahead of you look at the current price not what they use to be 10 years ago. I feel alot of guy's get caught up in that, they will take a freezfram of what price are at one time and they won't acknowledge that price do go up.
