After thinning out the grouse population for most of the season this year .
We have stopped to simply admire supper and let it roam for another day(Or year)

This pair I am not sure will live to see to many more days...Photos tell the story:rolleyes:

Little guy booked her outa there LMAO

Was a real treat , not only are they good eating , but they are quite pretty:cool:

We were driving a 1 ton Chev towing a trailer to pick up our moose so didn't have time to stop and shoot this grouse on the road right in front of us. We drove right over it. I looked back and it was still standing in the middle of the road.
Nice pics skneub!

Thanks for posting. Work and family life have been crazy this year and I didn't get out even once, so it's nice to live vicariously through your photos.

And yes, I completely agree, they are every bit as pretty as they are tasty!

Hahaha , I had a suicide grouse a couple years ago....
Backed up and picked it up.
The thing put a skidmark on the rear drivers quarter glass of my 3/4 ton (Glad my window was up lol)

We don't do a lot of walking , but enjoy admiring nature as well as eating it lol
Always packing a camera

Great photos, and of my favorite game bird:)!! Thanks for sharing. Here's a few photos I took of Spruce Grouse,;)or 'Gum Boots' as we sometimes refer to them as.

We had just returned for lunch to my cabin following a morning Moose hunt and we found them feeding on berries in the front yard.

I have knocked spruce grouse out of trees with the butt of my rifle, those things are dense as liberals.

Nice pictures both of you!!
