I've done 300m shots to the pig with my mkII G with 20moa rail and cci stingers. I had 30 moa left on the turret and was getting 10/10 (it's the pig, it's huge.) 500yds is very do-able.

How much vertical were you getting? I assume it's a standard high power silhouette pig?

At 500 I think the trick would be spotting your misses until you really learn how they behave in subtle wind changes. Those .22's are probably about twice as wind sensitive as the black powder bullets I shoot, and it's pretty easy to get off target with those. At 500 a 10 mph full value wind can take you off a 36" circle if you were holding dead centre. The trick is catching the little changes.

I've only shot my .22 out to 200m, but that's no real trick with quality ammunition. The RWS R50 seems to hold elevation best for me. We use rear sights with tons of elevation, or scopes with external adjustments that often have 150+ moa of range.

Screw 500, I'm going straight to a grand!

N00bzzzzz!!!!!! Leave the scope flat, and bend the barrel 50moa, much cheaper and it doesn't affect your cheek weld. It's kind of like a big ski jump for your bullets.

Hey. Adam and Jamie did it to 10,800 moa, so 50's a cinch

Ok, I now have a 126moa of up on my KIDD with the current scope and mount. Still have a 50 yard zero too! How far will that get me with FGMM target 40gr stuff. Lol 1/2KM plus!!
