I would like to get ideas as to what optics I should put on the following AR's
All 3 have flat top upper receivers with full length Noveske NSR rails.

Up to now I have an EOtech EXPS 3.2.

The AR's are:
Gen 2 Noveske 10.5" CQB.
Gen 1 Noveske 14.5" Afghan
Stag 3G 18" with Noveske 16.7" handguard.

My thought was to put the EOtech on the 10.5"
A 1-4 on the 14.5"
A 4-16 on the 18" as a DMR setup?

Sell the Eotech on the EE.

Put an Aimpoint T2 on the 10.5".
Put an Aimpoint M4s (possibly with a 3x Magnifier that can also be used on the 10.5") on the 14.5".
Put a Bushnell Elite Tactical SMRS 1-8.5x on the 18".

Regards.

Mark

I put EOTech's on all my short rifles. Works best for me. I love the Aimpoint Micro's too, but don't like the narrow field of view for shorter guns (just my opinion)
Im gonna go with a 1-4X vortex PST on my 16" AR..

I'd keep the Eotech on the shorty, and go with Elcans or Acogs on the other two. I've had good experiences with my SpecterDR, OS4, and OS3, and absolutely love my TA11 ACOG

4-16 is a dedicated longish range scope and would be no fun on an AR in my opinion. Perhaps you might consider a 1-6X like the new Vortex Strike Eagle for your longer range AR?

Aimpoint comp m3 or aimpoint H1 on the 10.5
ACOG or Spectre on the 14.5
2.5-10x or simalir range scope on the 18

That's how ive run my 3 rifles, I'd sell the eotech, but that's strictly my oppinion.

I suppose it depends on what you're shooting plans are to be... Regarding shooting distances and style(s) a 4-16x scope (remember it is a variable power optic, so dialing it down to the 4x-6x power range is possible too) might make a lot of sense if it's an AR set-up as a DMR (Designated Marksmen Rifle), being used out to 300+Metres (and possible much, much farther = 800+Metres) and beyond.

It also depends how good the shooters eyes are, as eyesight can be a factor when attempting to use lower power magnification optics/open sites... there by possibly requiring the use of a higher power optic or at least a better quality lower power optic...

Just say'in, as not all AR's are set-up as CQB rifles...

I'd keep the Eotech for the 10.5" and run Elcan(s) on the others as CobraGT has suggested.

Cheers D

What kind of budget?

EOTech on the shorty if you already own it.
HiLux CMR 1-4 on the 14.5 (available at Wolverine).
Nightforce 3.5-15×50 on the 18 inch.

I own each of those optics and they're all fantastic for practical ranges used.
My EOTech sits on my 9mm AR and mostly gets used at 25-50 yards with the odd time at 100 yards with the help of a magnifier.
One of my HiLux CMR is on my 16 inch build and the other (AK version) is on my 12 inch 300BLK build. Great glass for a $400 optic and they have great reticles and zero-stop turrets which you don't usually find on scopes till you get closer to double the price.
And the NF, well it's a NF, not much really needs to be said other than it's an amazing piece of glass for any rifle.

Just stay away from Bushnell if you want quality glass. I've been very disappointed with the last couple I've owned and not long ago I shot a rifle with a Bushnell 1-4 AR and it was crap. Thick reticle with poor glass.
