Kel-Tec SU-22 - Thoughts?

I enjoy the rifle, the factory mag sux though, so you will definitely need to buy some black dog mags. If you put a grip on the foregrip rail, then the rifle won't fold which in unfortunate, but on the other hand, optics don't interfere with he folding. It is a bit confusing to take apart for cleaning, but once you do it it's pretty simple. The standard stock holds a spare factory mag, but as I said that mag sux, so you won't ever use that option.

Imo everyone will say its a pos.
However most have only held one and didnt shoot it.
Mine was fantastic. 25 round mags and a possible conversion to AM180 drum mags. Which means 275 rounds!
Its fun to shoot beside a 10/22 110 gsg drum and they empty the mag. Then you have another 165 rounds to go.
Gun is light, has a pistol grip add on and folds. Super simple to clean.
Great gun imo.
I found my 15 round.......... factory mag worked fine.
All mags BD, AM180 and factory ahot the same. It was ammo that was the main reason for fte.

I've had mine for about three years. At first it had quite the break in period consisting of frequent and sometimes very odd malfunctions. After that its been flawless, not even a light strike for thousands of rounds. Mine seems to really like CCI Blazer and after the break in that's all I've shot though it.

I've let my buddy shoot it and he loves it, said he would have one next week if he could find mags for it. My GF loves it too due to its very light weight.

Also never had a problem with the factory mag, it still functions great aside from being only a 10 rounder.

Youtube 15 round su22 mag.
Questar is where I got my AR su22 mags.
Warning though from what I read, the BD 32 round mags dont work.
Id go to the keltec forum and ask there!!!@!!

I have no experience shooting them, but have held a couple. To me, they "feel" like a $250 gun with all that plastic. I do like the look of them though. Maybe the most original-looking "black" .22 out there.

Please dont pick up a Issc mk22. If you dont say the same thing, youre a hypocrite. Same for most plastic handguns.
Sorry but plastics is the way of things. The ruger bx10 is arguably the best rimfire mag. Its almost all plastic.

lol...well...no fear of that. I don't think I'd care WHAT that gun was made of~no risk of me being interested in one of them. Regardless, I haven't had my head buried in the sand in the last 20 years...I know what's going on with synthetics/polymers where guns are concerned. I program a CNC router, buy plastics (acrylic/PVC/co-poly/nylon/delrin) on an industrial level...I'm in deep with the stuff. lol If you're suggesting my "plastic" comment meant I don't see the value in it~you've missed my intent altogether.

Whatever the case, I like SU-22s and would like to have one...my comment on the value was subjective. Personally, I don't see a $500+ gun when I hold one in my hands...but the next guy in line very well might.

That I can agree on. Vault margins are way to high imo. Its their fault a $250-$300 rifle is priced at $500+!!!

Our Canadian dollar doesn't help things much. I looked at the prices in the States and with the exchange the rifles are about the same cost as here. For those that purchased these when the dollar was strong? Well that's a different story.
