I've been using the Hornady flat based 55gr bullets in the past but I'm almost out and thinking about trying the Campro, plus since there a boat tail design they might work better with the bullet feeder(I haven't tried the Hornadys with the bullet feeder) plus there cheaper and easier to find. I have been impressed with the accuracy of the Hornadys thou especially for a cheap bullet.

Does anyone have any experiences with the Campro's that can share there results?

Thanks in advance!

Interested x2...

I'm in the market for a 20K plus of plinking bullets for the ARs etc and was considering the Campro stuff as well. The various Campro pistol bullets I have been using are working fine, some feed back on their jacketed rifle stuff would be nice.

I use the campro 55 gr fmj in both my bolt gun and my colt AR at the range , the load I developed is hodgdon cfe223 powder at 24.6 grains and they shoot 1-1.5" groups at 200 yds . I love these projectiles cheap I can get 1000 of these locally for $118 tax in . Can't beat that obviously u cannot hunt with these being fmj but there a great cheap projectile for the range . I load the exact same load with the Hornady ballistic tip 55 gr that are $35/100 projectiles and I honestly don't find any difference in accuracy .

Hey, send me an email when you are ready to buy the 20k of 223 bullets & I'll quote you a good deal on them.

Regards, Henry

Handload and shoot these with confidence. They work well for bulk .223 loads

My recipe (consult load data before using)

Federal black box brass FL sized and trimmed 1.750"
Win Small Rifle Primer
26.3 Grs Win 748 (warmer load but in a 5.56 chamber no issues)
55 gr campro FMJBT seated to 2.235" COL

I don't crimp these either; just let the factory neck tension do the work (2" groups at 100m but can stay on ipsc targets out to 400m with a 14.5" 1-7 twist barreled AR using a 4 MOA red dot off hand most days.)

+1 on the comments so far. I have recently tried Campro 55's and find them equal or better than the Hornady's that I previously used. Excellent quality in a Canadian made bullet and at a very reasonable price.

Been shooting these for the last few months with about 2k downrange. I'm pretty happy with them from consistency and price perspectives. I haven't shot them over 100 yards so can't comment on their accuracy past that distance.

I tried the Campro 223 FMJBT this season and also thought they were good for a bulk pill. Seems to be just as accurate as the Hornady FMJBT and cheaper. I only made up a small test batch using 24gr of Varget and was getting 1.5" groups at 100yrds.

Hummm, seeing as guys are getting 1.5" groups at 200yrds, I could probably bring mine down a little if I do some proper load testing.

I have been using them in my ar-15 for plinking ammo, no complaints here. Haven't shot them for precision, but I did have a 2" group one time at 100m using a 1x red dot site which more than surpassed my expectations.

not 1.5 inch 1.5 moa so 3 inch 10 round groups at 200 yards with the armalite. My Tavor groups about 5 inches at that range.

Great thread guys! Like the op, I have been shooting Hornady 55g projectiles and have about 300 or so flat base left, including some soft nose spire points. I actually preferred the Hornady 55g boat tail cannelured for ease of reloading and especially seating - they slip in easy (ya ya...that's what she said I know...) and you get a great crimp with the cannelure. I've been wanting to try the Campro or Western 55g BT for a while so the feedback is welcome.

I also would like to try them , waiting for them to get back in stock at my local store. I've been using frontier bullets , just started reloading they haven't been to bad so far. But I do notice some of the projectile tips are inconcitent , some don't have a full tip and are rounded so my over all lengths will be a bit under sometimes .
