Get two. That way when you will bring a new shooter to the range you could lend him the other SKS.
And the best part is that you get to clean two rifles...

Not if they don't have PAL!
Why is that ?

Lever Arms has 1500 rounds for $325.00, and SKS for $200. And the friendly shopping experience is priceless!
Well I have had 4 SKSs over the years, sold them and then just bought another which is the nicest by far and being refurbished for 200 bucks was a no brainer. Stock was great, bluing nice, and the rifling was also crisp.
Also had a couple of M1 Carbines, 3 M305/M14 Norcs, and always come back to the SKS.
Stripped this one and did the Tung Oil refinish thing, just need to get out and shoot her.

Some say there exists a mythological trader who gives you a mysterious box containing, not what you want, but what you deserve. One man leaves with a cool semiautomatic shotgun, another leaves with a firearm cursed by a wretchedly designed gas system and 1 overpriced magazine. Some men call this a legend, a story to frighten children on a dark winter's night. I, for one, am not so sure...I see what you did there![]()
why are SKS being talked about in the Main Battle Rifle section?
I don't know what to think.I thought SKS is battle rifle?
Nah, battle rifles rifle full size cartridges.
The 7.62x39mm is an intermediate cartridge.

They are having an SKS love in! I showed up because I saw the thread title and I thought I would come and defend the SKS
from what I think of as the M14-M305 crowd, who I was expecting to be bashing the SKS. Instead it is a LOVE IN!I don't know what to think.
