asking for opinions on these two riffles

Lol @ the responses, and very true, I have never seen gunnutz so United.

It's like asking should I go with a Schmidt and Bender or a Barska on my competition 338 Lapua. Except with regards to the rifles there isn't that big of a price gap lol.

Even though I am not a huge fan of the vanguards, I CAN NOT vote for the mossberg!!

Wow. I guess that was a pretty dumb question lol. Thank you all for the input! !! Any other recommendations for optics?

Hmm, now that vanguard weather guard has been called to my attention, I reall think I want one lol.

Yah, I'm thinking this thread is going to be personally expensive. Been trying to figure out what I want to do for .223 and .308 bolt action rifles to compliment my existing semis... The Weatherby's are solid rifles and not bad price... Until you buy multiples of them and start scoping them etc.

When I am buying another rifle I always add $1,500 for optics, rings, sling, case, dies if needed etc... Give or take of course.

Hopefullu not after buying a 3-400$ rifle...

just because a rifle may cost 3-400 doesn't mean you should put Barska optics on it. If it's accurate, give it good glass and give it a chance!! A sling is a sling, a case is a case, dies are dies, etc...

However I don't care if it cost $50,000, if it can't shoot, put the good glass on something that does.

Yep.... And even at that, there at decnt low budget options.... Red field revolution for example......

You are correct, a scope, sling, case etc can always be used on another rifle if it do not shoot.

Thanks for all the replies! ! I'm thinking of getting the nikon prostaff 2.5-10x40mm. The best price in calgary I can find is $380. Any thoughts? For the weatherby vanguard s2 of course
