What's out there for 9mm 1911's?

I'm in the market for a new 1911, and I'd like a 9mm to take advantage of the piles of brass I already have. I'd like to keep it under a grand if I can, but will go over if it means not having to buy twice. I'm not interested in the Norc, and I'm a bit lukewarm about the SAM guns. I'm getting back into IPSC, so it's going to have to sing for its supper. Ideas? Suggestions?

STI Spartan if you can find one (they're discontinued). I am really enjoying mine.

I did see a 9mm SIG at CSC a week or so ago, but it was a little over the $1000 mark.

IRG and Wanstalls had the Springfield Armoury 1911 Range Officer in 9mm. I got mine from IRG and she's a solid shooter without the frills.

They had one of these at CSC when I was buy there today. A "tad" more than $1000 though... :)

It also looks like Shooters Choice has a couple of 9mm Kimbers...

Bite the bullet and get an STI Trojan.

+1. Don't know about the Spartan, but STI really has the 9mm 1911 figured out with the Trojan and other higher end models. You might be able to find a used Trojan in good shape for close to your asking. Even if it has a few rounds through it, not like 9mm is going to shoot loose a quality 1911.

If you're more interested in bang for the buck: get the Spartan. I have one and it's really quite good. It looks like an inexpensive gun, but I've shot it in some high end competition, and it holds it's own very well.

This in no way disparages the better looking guns: I wish I could afford some of them, and they'll shoot just fine too.

The blueing and matte finishes on some of the other higher end STIs isn't that great either so maybe the Spartan is the gem.
