Thanks cheers

I see , well on there site candaammo.com it states that all the other firearms are restricted. This one doesn't say that it is on the site ,I had herd of a kit that you have to do some fitting to the bottom to fit the upper on and that it was non rest I thought this was the kit that I had herd talk of , Can someone direct me to this kit where the lower needs machining to take the upper as it was not made to fit an ar style. If its a Canadian site it should state non rest and rest if this is restricted I will cancel purchase...ffs this country's gov sucks we need to take er back..

heres the link..

It blows my mind how little some people know about the laws that directly effect them.. You'd think that most people with a license would know the classification of ar-15's.

Sorry man, but after the 1000th time of someone asking if AR's are non-restricted, it starts getting pretty annoying. The answers are all on the RCMP's website, and the answers are also taught/drilled into your head when you get your license.

As for the lower, it's made for Canada Ammos 50 cal upper. If I remember correctly you have to permanently modify the upper and attach it to the lower and weld it. If it does work, you'd have a single shot non-restricted AR that required feeding bullets into the chamber one by one. Essentially... It's not worth it.

Edit: also... It's not military stuff... It's simply a rifle that looks like military stuff.

never in my pal rpal classes has the instructor ever said the ar15 is restricted
he said all centerfire rifles semi autos of barrel length shorter than 18.5 inches are restricted

i had to go to a lgs pick up a 20 inch ar15 to realize to my surprise it was restricted, i asked the clerk why, he replied thats how it is.

I learned very quickly that classification is not just what the law states but what the exceptions to the law are.

Did you thought to ask?

well that would have been a long day if I had asked about all the firearms I could think of and their classification

why make a law and then have 567 exceptions and growing to that law? then the exceptions become the law, not the article no?

You noticed that the course is very basic and just the bare min your know? Theyre not expected to teach every loop hole and everything. Cant hold everybody hands

Hardly hand holding to say "every semi-auto with barrel length less than 18.5 in is restricted, and in addition there are several rifles that are classified as restricted by name in the act".

Agreed that the CFSC is basic...to the extreme. The knowledge required to pass is minimal and barely scratches the surface of the legal knowledge required and practical safe handling of firearms. It would be a joke if it wasn't so serious.

That however, is off topic.

OP - as said before, all AR-10 and 15 rifles are classified as restricted in accordance with the Canadian Firearms Act. Sad but true.
