Weatherby Vaguard 2016 new models.

I really like the grey laminate look and especially that it is in a blued barrel over silver but kinda dissapointed they don`t have the typical reverse angle squared cut on the forearm tip. Takes away from the classic weatherby styling.

Thanks for posting the pics....galamb!

still not left hand action coming?

No left hand offerings in the 2016 Howa line-up which means no left hand Vanguard II's either.

Ed Weatherby responded to that question directly saying that it was not "economically feasible" to pay for the tooling to produce left handed actions (since Howa had no desire to do so on their own).

So if you want a Wby "leftie" it has to be a Mk 5 - and for 2016 there is considerable selection - but yes, you can buy 4 of the lowest end Vanguard II's for the price of almost any of the Mk 5's.

Laminate heavy barrel, cool!

Wow, a GRS stocked Wby. Now that would be a worthwhile investment, stock alone is about $700.00 CDN.
Too bad it is only availavable in varminf cal's.

Those laminated stocked H-Bar models are in the 2016 Canadian buyers catalog but that "700 dollar stock" comes at a price.

Based on the wholesale, if I put one of these on the shelf, the "sticker price" would be about $1800 (the US MSRP of $1449 in Can bucks is about $1925 today) - an awful lot of money for a Vanguard II

Here are some of the new Weatherby Vanguard for 2016, the weatherguard ones are cerakoted

Lazerguard

This Lazerguard with the oak-leaf engravings has been around for about 2 years now -- but up until now, only through Cabelas as a "Cabelas exclusive".

I almost got one in 30-06 as a birthday present from my wife when we were visiting the Cabelas in Barrie, and for the price ($1069.99) it was pretty tempting given how nice the walnut was with the engravings.
Ended up getting something different, but still think this is pretty nice.

It is currently available on the Cabelas website where it is still listed as a Cabelas Exclusive.

Appx price on Weatherguard heavy Barrel? Assuming this is the rifle in the GRS wood, I guess you are paying a premium for the stock...

I fiddled around with the North Mark 5 poster and got three shots that aren't too blurry.

Anyhow, here's the poster kinda broken down into the butt end of the rifle, the floor plate and the fore-end.
