Replacement barrel options 10/22

Looking to upgrade the stock barrel on one of my 10/22, any good options for better accuracy but without having to go to a bull barrel and changing the stock?

I have had very good results with Green Mountain & Kidd barrels however these have been bull barrels.

I really like the factory stock on this gun. From what I can find my options are limited it seems.

I think allot of accuracy gain with a bull bbl swap is due to people bedding/free floating the action/bbl. If its a wood stock its easy to open the channel up for the heavy bbl.

There is guys that have wrapped a socket in sandpaper and just kept increasing the stock channel. One size up a time perhaps this is something you could do. I have a green mountain spoter fluted barrel I just got for my ruger m77/22 then I can use the stock that it came with. Minus the iron sites. the guy I bought it from had a hybrid sporter with a heavy end maybe this is something you could use if you wanted to shim it ?

It's a composite stock, had looked at the sandpaper technic.I wonder how the Green Mountain tapered barrel would work. If I read correctly it's only .920 for the first couple inches then tapers down.

I believe dlask has a sporter contour barrel on his website. These start as green Mountain blanks. They are a great company
