What is your brand loyalty and why?

The Brownings interest me particularly.. Have had nothing but bad experiences with accuracy.... Yet nothing but great experiences with fit and finish......

I hated everything they made since the FN firearms (except the BL22), especially the a-bolt. But once I tried an x-bolt I decided to stop being so close minded. My x-bolts have all come with quite tight chambers and are very accurate for an off the shelf rifle.

Still won't bother again with the a-bolts though.

Too some of the browning guys, ive always seem them as something old guys with lots of money who casually hunt own... How are thye for accuracy, weight, ect compared to firearms with similar price point. I mean I know you don't see a lot of them on long range firing lines, or even at the range but damn a lot of guys (mainly guys who hunt) have them.

Well my .02 is browning my dad has had them for over 40 years accuracy is like a lazer beam... I'm talking all semi's..... 7mm...300.wm.... And three years ago I bought a 25-06 ...had to wait almost three years for it cause none we're in North America .... It had to be made ...wait for producing run to start..... The wait was worth it .... I love that 25!!!! A lazer beam .... I swear buy them ....... I had the greatest luck ... No problems none!!!!..... Like there add says at the end ......browning the best there is
Also weatherby!!!!.....I may have to buy another one for the girlfriend .... She really likes the/my 25-06.... She says its hers now!!!!!!!!!

I don't have a brand loyalty, to be accurate. I do have physical attributes which dictate the firearms I purchase - I'm pretty tall, a shade under 6'5" with very long arms, so I've found I really need a length of pull which doesn't cramp my arms, especially as I attain "that certain age - i.e. 60's" and the flexibility suffers a bit.

For the most part, I've ended up with quite a few Brownings (X-Bolt Eclipse Hunter/30.06; Citori Satin Hunter/12 ga.; a recently purchased Browning BLR SS Takedown in .308, and my trusty old BBR in .270 Win). Others: 444 Marlin; Win SX3/12 ga and some other odds and ends. All of my non-Brownings have a pretty good stock and shoulder comfortably for me.

I've found Remington just don't fit me well, I'm not saying they're not good, just not for me. But I've not had the chance to try a Ruger of any model, so I'm keeping my eye on the guys at the Club who might have one they'll let me try out.

The two best shooting rifles I've got are the X-Bolt Eclipse laminated/thumbhole stock, and my old BBR with a nice Monte Carlo, which had a short buttstock but I put a nice thick recoil pad on it to get a decent LOP.

You can't go wrong with a Glock.

Z-man, are you but trying to run up your post count? Or jut being a smarta$$ lol

Glock, we get it, speaking of which, want to buy a 22C with a lazermax, 4 mags, competition trigger, galco leather Miami vice holster, composite hip holster, and a bag of goodies? Last Glock I'll own and want to unload it lol

Not really loyal to any brand. Maybe a bit with the older remingtons. But I must admit that I like all brands of rifles as long as they are the older models.
I have bought a few new ones and was quite disappointed with them and sold them. Maybe its just me but I find the quality has really gone by the wayside with the new stuff offered.

One of my rifles is a browning a-bolt medallion in 300 win mag. Like you said, fit and finish is great but unlike yourself I have never had an accuracy issue with it. The rifle has always functioned and performed flawlessly. That is with an old bushnel lite site 3-9x40 scope that was on it when I bought the rifle.
Not sure what brought on your accuracy issues.

I like:

Winchester 70's & '94's [especially pre '64's]
Remington 700's [older ones]
Browning [A-bolts]
Ruger 77's [tangsafety's & MkII's] & No 1's
Savage [99F's]
Marlin [336 & 1895's]
Weatherby Vanguards

There's my brand loyalties. :)

NAA.

I own many different brands of firearms with Browning and Ruger tied for overall numbers. I also own Marlins & Winchesters and a handful of British & European guns.

The one rifle I don't own - and have no desire to - is the Remington 700. I don't know why but I just don't care for them.

Me too. I have a 375 H&H I like and is accurate, every thing else Browning is crap. When I complained to Browning USA and said I had an accurate A bolt but the Shortrac wouldn't shoot inside 6" @100 yds, they said they only guarantee 5" on the BAR. Must be why you see so many coming up for sale lately. When I said my 375 shoots way better that 5", he said "well you got a good one".

Never own another Browning.......

I am partial to some of the Winchester models as I was raised with them. I own many other brands as well, Ruger to name one. Two brands I will not own are Mossberg and Savage.

My target guns were built on Remington actions, my hunting guns are Tikkas and weatherby Vanguards. pretty happy with them all. no savages in the cabinet, not my thing

Obviously, Z-Man is a little confused about the forum he's in, 'cause unless I'm wrong his pet Glock doesn't really fit in to the "hunting and sporting arms" group unless, of course, he's huntin' in the U.S. of A. Even then, he'd likely be better off with a wheel gun shootin' real stopping rounds for when the bears sneak up on 'im.
