Hot new 300 Magnum!

Impressive target Ted and nice rifle ! Thanks for sharing,
Both my Vanguard S2s, a 7 Rem. Mag. and a 243 that was just like yours are making wee tiny groups.
Actually I don't think that anyone has come on the Forum complaining about poor accuracy from a Vanguard yet...

You know, Kevan, unless I am mistaken every Vanguard I have ever owned was capable of shooting close to an inch, or better.

Nice shooting.

When I first looked at them I thought it was was UGLY! but it did grow on me. My gf (who I bought it for) loved it instantly. This one is in 243 ind will shoot right around .5" for 5 shots with 58gr vmax(all that we tested so far)

Yes, and this is just crazy too..

...first four shots into half an inch!

Just guessed on a load, 73 gr H450 with 180 Speer spitzer boat-tails, and WLRM primers...just crazy!

Im kinda dumb when it comes to rifles but you didn't hit the green T, would that be the objective? To get that small group into the centre of the T?

I am assuming that those are the first shots. Boresighted and barrel not at all broken in. Modern scopes have 70-100 inches of windage and elevation adjustment. Simple adjustment to bring to zero. For me, using a max 7X at 100, with only a gross aiming point, that is incredible. Incredible...... lucky to have that accurate a barrel, pull off perfect shots, or stumble on a great recipe in his load. Certainly shows awesome potential, from what most people consider the best of the budget rifles, with chevrolet projectile. Ted has a new toy.

oK I get ya. I thought those were after the rifle was sighted in but instead of nailing it dead center he was using the green T as a reference point and aiming to the right.

I have had and sold several Vanguards + a couple of Howas. I still own 4 Vanguards.

Not a one of them that would not shoot moa with at least one load, many would do so with several loads.

They are the bargain in spades, to be sure. Solid, accurate and well made.

Dave.

New one in a bawx here.
Tink the bawx izz melted by now..........

Another flamer stock or entire rifle?
I just got a replacement stock for my short action... so the flamer will be going as long as the new stock doesn't hurt accuracy.

My need is for a long action. Thinking a blaze camo would be the talk of the town on my S2 in 375 H&H. ;)

The recoil is about the same in both calibers, so the stock should handle it okay.

No-one will be mistaking you for a deer, and if you get lost in the woods the helicopter will find you in 5 mins. And then dump 10 tons of water on you.
The anti-flamer ladies doth protest too much, methinks :).
