I just picked up the latest issue of Military Surplus magazine (Harris Publications) and in it they have several surplus replicas chambered in .22LR.

They mention rifles like the M1 Carbine, Stg-44, and pistols such as the Chiappa M1911 replica.

What they also show are rifles such as the M1 Garand, M14, SMG's such as the Thompson and MP-40, along with a GSG AK-47 replica!!!

I'd love to get my greedy mitts on these!! Does anyone know if these rifles and SMG replicas (semi-auto only of course) are imported into Canada? If so, who's importing them? I know who imports the M1 Carbine, STG-44, and Chiappa pistols, but not the Garand, M14 replica, etc, etc.

I would think those would sell like ice-cold beer at the ball game in July, and I'd be one of the first in line!!

There is a ruger 10/22 Thompson kit, roughly 500 bones. There is a stg-44 by norinco most site sponsors have them. Norinco also offers a k98 replica in 22lr... Chiappa offers a M1 in 22lr and 9mm

closest you can get to the Thompson is a kit for a Ruger 10/22, there are a lot of neat stuff we can only drool over, with the 10/22 you can get a 110 round drum, its fun just gets thro lots of ammo fast

Kingston armoury does the m14 and m1 garand, no idea on Canadian availability.

I would buy one 100% I think this could be the start of my "collection" Get the norc K98 clone, the STG, The tommy, Would be a cool little collection and cheap to shoot.

That's MY idea, darn it!!! :d

I've already made a start on it, I bought a Chiappa M1-22 carbine (and had a Chiappa 1911-22 for a few years) and just put away on layaway a STG44-22. I really want to get the M1 and M14 .22lr rifles from that Kingston Armory. I think dealers would have a hell of a time keeping them in stock......

Mossberg released a .22LR rifle called the Blaze which came in two different forms, one with a standard plastic stock and another with a faux wood stock that vaguely resembles something in the AK family. The RCMP was quick to ban the Blaze 47 based upon looks alone, even though both versions function exactly the same and share most of their parts. Can thank the geniuses at the firearms lab for this joke of a ruling.

where can one buy the Thompson kit for the 10/22?

I've seen the installed mod and what a good looking rifle! :)

I also wonder how hard it would be to put together a kit that would let you mod a 10/22 so it looked like a Garand...which I believe, is essentially what those Kingston replica's are.

any bullpup conversion is a no go as far as I know... thank your local neighbour who voted Libtard for that one.

FYI unrelated to the bullpup but Archangel makes an interesting G36K imitation as well
