Primary Weapons System new DI rifle series... Modern Musket.

This is not an NRA commercial... but one from a manufacturer selling their new rifle.

Fair enough, they know exactly who they're targeting.

The NRA is onto something lately though and hopefully the gun manufacturers will follow along. They should hammer the fun aspect of firearms into their repertoire and push it into ads. As much as the gun debate is heated between the pro and anti sides, I bet the people in between the two sides are 10x in numbers. Those who just don't care about firearms one way or another. I'd wanna advertise to them. "Hey check out how much FUN this #### is!!!"

The ad is indeed puke-worthy but advertising in general is aimed at the lowest common denominator. Smart people don't buy things based on ads, period. Doesn't matter if it's a great ad or recycled, cliched-filled garbage like the video above. And the average consumer...well, that's the primary demographic for "Guts, Glory, Ram", "it's got a Hemi", shamwow and hot chicks with guns protecting their "heritage" (who can't even hold guns properly because their boob jobs get in the way).

Yep.

What is with ''DI done right''? Am I to understand a company that specializes in piston AR's (albeit their long stroke piston seems to be the least silly of the lot) has revolutionized the Stoner Design? This advert combined with their belief that adding unnecessary parts to a system that has worked fine for half a century leads me to believe they are a special kind of goofy.

Wow, this thread just turned into an Ad critic review board... I get enough of that sh!t at the office, don't need that here. Go make a new thread on bad gun commercials in the Photo/Video thread. I thought it was about a PWS new line of DI rifles. I just happen to like PWS gear...

I thought it was supposed to be about PWS new DI AR as well, sadly it said nothing about it. The add was well done, but failed to illustrate the product at all.

It was one of the worst I've ever seen. It felt like they just took every standard firearm-related quote they could muster, blended it with sappy music, and added the "freedom" and "simple times" visual element of the man/woman/kid/dog in the forest/river. However, judging from the comments above -- it apparently worked! Amazing, since the PWS said ZERO about why you should purchase their firearm, or how it was any different than the 500+ others on the market (well, other than the name, "modern musket".. you know, the gun-advocate name for the AR over the past decade).

Seriously, do you guys who posted above purchase vehicles based upon one-liners such as, "Guts, Glory, Ram" or because you see guys kayaking or jumping off of cliffs?

It's funny how gun owners attack Obama supporters because they blindly follow him based upon rhetoric. It appears firearms manufacturers are very much like Obama -- just dangle simple images and different rhetoric and watch the masses flock!

You know. One of the things I love best about this country is our ability to openly express our views.

PWS has a great reputation for building quality firearms and I think they did an outstanding job on that ad. It seem to hit on a lot things that bother me about how we are treated as firearm owners.

I think with the current situation the US are in with all the negative vibes towards gun owners, I don't blame PWS for taking the more "family fun day" route instead of like the DD version where the sales guy hands a customer a DD AR15 and the customer asks "Why a DD?" and they cut to the full on military explosions, shooting etc. Mind you DD did a "family" version of their ad as well for the Superbowl but was yanked by the NFL as being inappropriate.

What's your point?
You don't like the add, but don't you agree with what the add is saying?

Modern Musket is showing you what it believes in, and suggests that if you share those same values then perhaps a Modern Musket DI AR15 is something worthy of further consideration.
I'd say it's an effective add that will drive current gun owners to explore a company that shares their values, and MIGHT even sway an anti to reconsider their beliefs.

You think an add going over the rifles specs could achieve that?

Guns are under attack in the US, and Modern Musket understands that.

are you kidding me? This is 100% marketing of the Her Der 'Mercia, god, family, country derps. They know damn well that this stupid bleeding heart crap with get them thousands of orders from that demographic. Even the damn name screams it.

Any anti that sees this is just gonna laugh at it because its pure cheese. I can't deny that it will bring them lots of money though, hell, this thread indicates that by the amount of people that bit the hook.

Good lord, what the hell were they thinking with that ad? What are they selling, lift kits and plastic chrome trim for ghetto blaster pick-up trucks or TAPOUT apparel for the UFC crowd?

Fair enough, they know exactly who they're targeting.
No question...conservative heterosexual Christian males with a persecution complex. I like DI AR15s, and I think PWS makes really good gear (I've got one of their lowers on order), but that ad was a little too much.

Whatever. It's a ad. Great company so not really too bothered by it. I buy Honda engine lawnmowers for their reliability and not for thier advertising standards. I buy PWS rifles because they are amazingly well built and just damn right good firearms.

PS: anyone interested in buying a nice used PWS rifle?? Got to let her go

:)

Necro thread! Awesome commercial for those who haven't seen it. My first time watching it, and I'm sold, lol!

Actually, I just bought a bunch of PWS parts, and I actually never heard of PWS until recently so I started snooping around to see if I bought good stuff or junk. I think I will be happy :)

Like the ad or hate it...it's all about freedom or right to express one's choices, they are of the group who take a stand, maybe if we stood together instead of apart, we have better laws in this country, instead of #####ing about artistc expression.

Sure it's a cliche pro-gun, pro American pro family pro prayer etc etc but when someone does does not stand for their rights, someone else will bulldoze their way in demanding theirs ....hence the ill-gotten mess stemming from some radicals from the other side of the globe. It is really time for us to stand up and be counted for our Canadian heritage, firearms helped create this nation and our ancestors livelihood...maybe we should support that notion and move on.

...And maybe that is the point of the ad.

pws makes one of the best combo flash hider compensator ever built. fsc556, they usually put it on all their rifles

Really? I'll have to investigate this a little more. I love comps and brakes, and I know Reliable is selling a pile of PWS stuff right now....maybe I'll have to go back and pick up a few more items, thanks for the heads up!
