Today I had a chance to test out two Ruger Precision Rifles. One in 6.5 Creedmoor and one in 243 Win. Bottom line. The 6.5 Creedmoor was awesome and the 243 has me scratching my head. Testing done at the 100M CHAS range, 5 shot groups.
The 6.5 Creedmoor with a $250 Vector Optics Scope 6-25x56 (Aliexpress special).

The Hornady 140g BTHP with 43.3g of Win 760 were excellent. Both the factory 120g Amax and 140g Amax shot very well. Excellent results for a total package under $2000.
Now the confusing 243 win. This one had all the nice stuff, Nightforce NSX 8-32x56, Amercian Defense Mount, Atlas Bipod etc. It shot like crap.

I am shooting Hornady 105g BTHP. The load data is new and untested. It looks like the bullets were not stable. The 1/7.7" twist on the 243 should have worked fine with the 105g bullets. I'll have to try again with a different load. Anyone have any ideas.
