Hi Everyone,

I'd like to get some input on my sight selection for my AR.

I have a Daniel Defense DDM4V5.

I only shoot at the range, my shooting range is limited to 100 yards but I mostly shoot close range (30-50 yards) at paper

I've been happy with the iron sights but I'd like to get a nice optic.

I had decided to go with the EoTech EXPS2-2 with the G33 magnifier but all this stuff I've been hearing
about the problems, lawsuits etc has got a little worried (problems, longevity, support etc.).
I want this sight to be something that will last a lifetime and that I can get serviced in 12 years if I need to
so I want to buy from a company that is well established and will be there in 20 years...

I really like the idea of a reflex style red dot with a flip magnifier. To be honest, the Eotech is everything
I really wanted but I'm concerned about buying a product "for life" from a company that may be in trouble
or have quality issues.

If it was not for that, the EoTech combo would already be on my gun... (And I'd probably be happy with it...)

So I guess my questions are:

1- Am I right to be weary of EoTech or am I being over sensitive ?

2- Are there any other options that you might consider if I want a sight that will go from NO magnification to say 3x or possibly up to 8x
preferably below $1200+tx

3- What do you guys think of the Vortex kit with magnifier ? (is it worthy of sitting on my gun ?)

4- Is there an Aimpoint model that might do what the EoTech does that I may have missed ?

5- Any other suggestions would be great, I'm really not sure which one to get, I really had my
sights on the EoTech... Feel free to throw in your suggestions.

Thank you all in advance for your help.

Eric

Check Burris XTR II 1.5-8 Dual focal plane

Hi 350Mag, This looks like a REALLY nice piece (spot on), especially with the little red dot on the side, thanks for the suggestion, I did not know about these guys I'll look into it with great interest...

I have a Burris MTAC 1-4x24 with a AR-P.E.P.R mount and I have used it from 25-300 yards with no issues. Think it ran me about the $600 dollar range with the mount.

I have ran eotechs in the harshest environments on the planet with no issue at all. I have an eotech on my DDM4A1 and for punching paper or steel it's all you will ever need. If your going to go to battle with it and eotech won't let you down. I ran one for about 35 months and it took everything I could toss at it including being in multiple IED strikes. Hard falls, wet, hot, cold, dusty prolonged firing things are solid.

1-4 vortex pst is nice I ran one for a year good sight good price. At 1X it's not as fast as any red dot

Aimpoint is good as well as T1 or T2 won't let you down but it is at the higher end of the price range $850 for the sight and another 500-600 for the magnification. The pro is a good choice can be had for under 500 on the ee frequently
