Daniel Defence Chrome BCG

USD 135 + $ 10 ship = ~192CAD I may get charged duty of 22 CAD

Canada =240+15 ship +pst = $288

Funny how its cheaper to ship form US, while in Canada we get charged more.

No duty but you'll get charged gst,pst and handling costs. If your in BC it'll work out to approximately $34 assuming you paid $150 for the chrome bolt carrier group.

If the item is under $500.00 USD and is gun parts and accessories, all you need to do is fill up the paperwork they send you. You don't need to pay $250. export fee.
It will tell you and if your not sure pick up the phone and call them.

Not exactly true. some parts do require the license, usually major parts like uppers, barrels etc. Like was stated, pick your items and either send Sandy an email listing the items with the product codes or "check out" and wait for a confirmation email from Sandy (usually within 48 hrs). They will not charge your CC until you either pay for the license or send back the user agreement. You can cancel the order anytime before that.

you can buy a barrel in Canada for the amount$$ needed to apply for an export permit, so plus the amount of the barrel cost its not worth it.

I have only ordered barrel twice because no one here in Canada has what I was looking for. look in the legalese section, NZA has put up a good tutorial and I myself have some updated info in there too.

There is some true to it that not every single thing Can't be export or vice versa. I have recently ordered a muzzle brake for a M14 and it shipped no problem, while on the same order I have added a BCM comp....BCM comp was no go. Example, regular trigger kit ( being general) can be exported as long as the manufacture is registered with the State Dept, while the same trigger kit from the same Manuf. coated with NiB may not be exported because of the coating. The rules are so twisted and complicated any average person out there will have a hard time understanding it. Best advice is to ask before you order, a quick email to Sandy is almost always 100% accurate. I am not saying we CGNers have bad infos, but get it straight from the horse mouth. Plus their rules changes every now and then and every firearm platform has their restriction.

Not always necessarily so as I purchased an ARP custom barrel with the assistance of IRG cheaper then a Canadian custom manufacted piece.

Just got it delivered by Canada post on Sunday. No duty or anything. USD 146 delivered. :) :D:D
I just had a Brownells Bolt Carrier, FCG springs kit and a number of small pieces delivered today on Sunday by Canada Post.

Just added the gas key and began the lower build. I have a 6.8 SPC bolt coming with an A2 precision rifle buttstock comming in another day or two. A 15" MI fore end is also in route from CTC purchased on black rifle Friday.

On a comparison with brownells with an export permit. Not compare it to ordering thru irunguns or rainier arm.

Cant compare apple to orange

I'd say you're ahead of the game right now. Good odds so far.
