Gave away my last pellet gun (Slavia) .177 some 40 years ago, I have had no interest in guns that don't go boom ever since. I recently picked up a deal on a lightly used RWS Magnum 350 and am absolutely blown away by this piece. Who would you recommend as a dealer in Canada hopefully a site sponsor and hopefully in Calgary. Thank you very much.

If you're referring to the model 5 pistol, it's classed restricted. Doubt you'll find it at any dealers although you might find one to order one in for you if you have your r-pal.
If you're referring to something else, I apologize.

You're looking for a Diana Model 5 air pistol. The "RWS" appellation refers to the American importer; the maker is Diana. The Model 5 is not available in Canada as it is no longer made. The newer Model 5GM (Magnum), which has a muzzle velocity of 700 fps in .177, has not been made since 2008, and it was probably not available in Canada. The thing is that air pistol shooters find that lower power guns are much better shooting and much more accurate. Very few shooters have been attracted to restricted air pistols in Canada. It is simply not worth the trouble to have an airgun that can only be shot at an approved range. Compared to many air pistols, a spring piston pistol like the Model 5 is not an especially agreeable gun to shoot.

Thanks or the replies guys. I was looking for a pellet gun to pop grouse when I'm out deer walking. I have a Crosman 1322 that doesn't have enough whomp to get the job done quickly. I bought the Magnum 350 sight unseen from a trusted source and am very happy with it. Not a grouser though as it weighs more than my 30-06. I guess what I need is an air pistol, .22cal, 495fps, break action, German quality. Any thoughts?

You might want to check out a Crosman MKI or MkII co2 pistol ,,,can be bought used, great guns adjustable triggers, adjustable power...KEN.

That HW is the bees knees but kinda spendy. I was looking at the 2240 but its speed is the same as my 1322. I wonder if there is a higher pressure PRV available for it.

I had read a fellow asking about a Cometa Indian and they don't sound too bad, in .177 they are right around 495pfs. they aren't as expensive as the HW and they are supposed to be pretty solid.

Non air power option. Sight a Chiappa Little Badger .22 rimfire in @ close range and use CB or Quiet 22 Ammo. Both are 710 fps and based on my experience, consistent in tight groups. Better than any air pistol, I paid around $200.00 for mine I think, thru a dot on it, lost the quad rail.

This is good advice. The difficulty with any powerful spring piston air pistol, and this includes the Cometa Indian, is that the recoil can make them very challenging to shoot well. Without a well-placed shot, a grouse may be able to escape, perhaps only to die later. If you can get a lightweight .22 rimfire and use low noise ammo, that would be the way to go.

Adding a 2289 barrel onto a 2240 will increase output to over 500fps or there abouts. Some breech mods would guarantee it.
