I bought a box of 168gr vld target bullets without really understanding what I bought. It seems that I can't find anywhere loading data for them. I have read enough to get the idea of getting the oal. Is there anyone that can help me. Oh and it is in a 308 caliber

Berger apparently has come out with a reloading manual, but they have long promoted making bullets at a length specific to your own rifle. I have had excellent success with Berger bullets by looking up the charge in another manual and using the listed powder charges from there.
You can look up the data from the manufacturer of the powder you are using.
The way I do it is find the caliber and bullet weight in my Hornady reloading manual. I then find the listed powder charges. Starting at the lowest, I make 5 rounds of each charge, going up 1/2gr at a time. So even if a charge isn't listed, but is between two published numbers I load those also. IE: lets say that you are using Varget. 34,9gr says 2200fps, then the next listed charge is 37.1 for a supposed 2300fps. There is 2.2gr there to play with. The next listed number is 39.4; another 2.3gr to play with. Some guys will load up .2 but I am not that fussy.
I have found that I get a good group with a lighter charge, and as I work up to a higher charge, I will again get a really good group.
hope this helps.

Hodgdon online load data is a better choice than most load manuals. Start low and work up. Load data is not really specific to a particular bullet, as the freebore/barrel length/rifling twist/etc. will never be constant from one rifle to another.

If you can PM a valid email address I would be more than happy to send you the load data from the Berger manual & also their pages on load development & seating depth page's.
You can also contact Berger via email & they will send you the data, but it takes them a few day's to reply. With that it might take me a day or so to scan them for you. I'm out on rig site today, but should be able to get it for you tonight....

You could also email Berger. Before they came out with their manual I used to email them for load data. The first time I emailed them they guy told me they used Quickload to generate their load data!

Their manual is worth the money though. It's always good to have as much data as you can get :)

Good advice from dale, if you want some bullets that shoot better than Bergers, you might want to try some of his.
