Deactivated Ak-47 value

Real soviet ones are hard to find and may go as high as 600$. Recent AK74 imports were made to fill the ak void that exists in Canada and some people ask even 1200 for them. Personally I'd spend 1000$ on functional firearm rather than on a paperweight that's not really efficient at this task . as there other heavier objects that can keep paper down on your table for lot less money.

For those of us who can't have a "functional" AK47, this is your only option. AK's on CS are $900 to $1000. You can pick up a good deal on AK74U's these days ,tho, as people who got a free one with their ammo are just selling them off.

Can grandfathered AK owners shoot theirs anyway? It might as well be a deact.....

If you were really desperate for a good looking AK, why not buy a half-decent airsoft version and doll it up with original parts? $350 on a full metal unit would at least let you tickle the trigger:

CTac is not a half decent airsoft gun. You can buy way better for cheaper. I played airsoft until.I got my PAL and CTac are terrible both internally and externally.

Wasn't there a Chinese airsoft company like Real Sword that was making an airsoft AK in the same plant as real AKs? Correct me if I'm wrong.

Real Sword made a copy of the Chinese type56 (AEG) out of steel and wood and you see them for sale from time to time on the airsoft fourms. The GHK AKM is a nice gas replica based on the Soviet version, again out of stamped steel and wood with the exception of the barrel. There is a next to new one up now for $400 on ASC.

Chinese 12.5 Ak's go for around $500 . Add the cost of a dewat job . You should get it for about $800

I am interested in finding a qualified gunsmith in western Canada to dewat some of my 12.5's do any of you out there know where to go?

A dewat is cool and all, but if you get a gas powered AK Airsoft gun, you get mostly on par construction, and all moving parts. I have seen but 1 AK that had moving parts, and that was an expensive paperweight that could move the bolt.

i concede that to you. newer dewat don t have great feeling with bolt weld and mag weld. It is possible and legal to own and find old dewat(pre-2006) with moving bolt and mag removable..

Only worth what people will pay or $0.80 per lb ( scrap metal value)

Agree.

Stop cutting firearms up and push for change in firearms calcification.
Dewat is the silent gun control.
Same with the stupid grandfathering.
When I kick the bucket my kids can NOT get my 12.*, 12.*, 12.*(*) firearms!
BS!

If the politicians wanted to save lives, then get the vehicle manufacturers to make vehicles that ONLY go 100km!
How many thousands are killed on our streets each year?
Ban vehicles and stop the carnage!!!

Sorry, rant over.

Expensive paper weight.
