XS rifle rear sight for slug shots

Looks a little pricey for what it is IMHO. Would you put up a range report if you get a chance? I'm looking for something to make my slugs easier to aim as well but I don't have enough (or perhaps it's too much) space in my pocketbook.

Then again my opinion and $.50 will get you a local call anywhere in the city.

Definitely looks a lot better than a bead. Sorry no range report yet.

casey did the same to my shotgun and it is awesome, not only for slug shots but it also catches you if you start looking over the barrel while shooting.

Yes and I prefer this over the flip-up he did before. This almost looks like factory sight.

He also opened up my feeding port even more.

Did he fix the reliability issues? I heard there were several of 'Casey's guns' that didn't work 100% at the TH match.

Ammo was the problem. I was using the TTI competition hammer spring and it didn't like the cheap shells with hard primer. Got him to install the factory hammer spring back in along with the Benelli hammer.

interesting, i bought a complete gun off casey, so everything but porting was done (wanted to stay in prostock class), i also had the tti spring installed, what ammo was giving you issues ? i been using winchester or federal trap loads, for slugs and buckshot it is reduced recoil 1oz true ball or flight control loads

Benelli hammers may be better than the VM hammers but I have only installed 2 at customers requests. Of all the builds we have done, I don't think there have been any issues related to hammers. Sure, the VM hammers may develop a burr on the sides from it impacting the firing pin but they can be easily removed.

The issue with the light primer strikes on the VM guns we built in my opinion is the combination of the lighter Taran Tactical hammer spring, the colder weather and ammunition. The Taran Hammer spring in combination with the Taran Trigger spring makes a lighter trigger pull and that is why we used them. Changing back to a stock hammer spring will make the trigger slightly heavier but it will eliminate the light primer strikes.

I've been using the same TTI spring in my Benelli for several years in all weather conditions without any issues.

Just wanted the confirmation of the reason for the hammer change.... the hammer peening was discussed before with Mbuis and yes it is known problem.

Mbuis... welcome to the world of REMELLI as all the people i know who compete with a vmax has gone to . Lol
