I purchased this at an auction a few years back. It is registered as a "la mustic" I can't find any information online. The serial number is 3 digits. So maybe it's even a home build? I have no idea, so I was hoping someone may be able to share some knowledge. It should be accurate, it's a break action with adjustable sights.

I can confirm for sure that this is an authentic «extremely ugly gun».
Apart from that, I have no idea what it is.

First thought... DAMN THAT'S UGLY!!!

Second thought... Someone made that!!!

Does it function?

Cheers

I find the odd ones particularly interesting. I have a handmade .22 semiauto pistol, with its holster, both stamped A. Newton. No idea who Newton was, or where he was. The pistol is not a copy of anything else.

That sounds like a very interesting piece and a great score! It's nice to have something with a story and a little mystery.

The molded Bakelite grips don't look home made. It looks like a pre WW 2 prototype of some sort.

What ever it is you can be reassured there's some guy, somewhere, that collects them, knows everything about them, just a matter of finding that guy!!

Looks like an eastern bloc .22 plinker pistol imo. Not sure if any western countries would have the free will to make something that ugly... it has to be a state laboured product.

The Bakelite would suggest a commercial firearm . Probably around 1900 .
Sights appear to be more of a target pistol design vs general use. The single shot also suggests target use but .....?

Are there any markings or proof marks on the gun? It please post a photo.
Is the caliber designated any where?
Have you removed the grips and for end to search for markings?

I know exactly what that gun is...it's an Ugly.

It was made in a small country in Europe called Ugly.

It was manufactured by the Ugly Brothers and only two were ever built.

They fought over how ugly it was and challenged each other to a duel.

The brother that died in the duel was buried with his gun.

You have the only one left in existence.:p

Wish I could get me one!
