The name of it is sort of french so it could be made in a french protected of some kind. I take it there is nothing stamped on it anyplace.
I know exactly what that gun is...it's an Ugly.
It was made in a small country in Europe called Ugly.
It was manufactured by the Ugly Brothers and only two were ever built.
They fought over how ugly it was and challenged each other to a duel.
The brother that died in the duel was buried with his gun.
You have the only one left in existence.
Wish I could get me one!
Does a case eject/extract? I love the gun btw and would really like to see more pics of it with the action open and grip panels off...and is that a forestock? How big is this...thing? Do you have anything for a size reference?
I took the liberty of posting the pictures and asking for information on a French Gun forum. Should be interesting.

Don't know a thing about the gun itself, but I suspect that the name on the paperwork is a bit of a mis-spelling.
"Le Moustique" (pronounced roughly like a Maudit Anglo would say "la mustic" ) is French for "The Moskito" - an appropriate enough name for a single shot pistol.
If it's old enough, and there are no maker's marks on the pistol, this kind of mistranslation would be fairly common.
Cheers, good luck in your quest.
