Cadex MCS fore end?

You don't want the mcs version if you are running 14". The mcs version is for guns that have had the mag tube cut down to fit a 10" barrel, which would mean you have to cut the slide tube down too. If you cut the slide tube down to fit (it would also have to be re threaded) the mcs forend would work

The Cadex MCS fore end is for the 10" barrelled Rem 870 MCS and as mentioned above fits on the shorter MCS fore end tube assembly. It will not fit on the longer standard length tubes or the shorter tube of the 6.5" barrelled Grizzly.

For a 14" gun or any of the guns with the standard length fore end tube assembly use the Cadex fore end that is meant for the standard length fore end tube assemblies.

They are expensive but the fit and finish is about as good as it gets just like all Cadex stocks and accessories.

Thanks for the overview and the benefit of your experience.

Standard barrel won't fit as the mag tube is shorter. If you are desperate to have the short mcs forearm just send your slide to Casey and have him cut and re thread it. Then it will work on a regular frame, but really, just buy the standard forend and you're good

You can see the difference of the fore end between a regular 870 Police Magnum and a 870 MCS in this picture.

Interesting. Not to hijack the thread but what about using the Cadex on a 8.5" Grizzly? Going too short for barrel length?

I decided on the Cadex MCS foregrip on my 8.5 grizzly. It takes work. You will need to mill out the handguard slide tube diameter. Then also there needs to be material removed to allow the MCS to slide farther over the reciever (overlap). Is it possible? Definetly, but you gotta put the time in. You need to have a good quality mill and lathe. I made a sleeve to fit inside the handguard so I could clamp it instead of the soft aluminum handguard. It looks so good! There is nothing like machining a 400 handguard to make it fit. But then again coming from the offroad scene it is not the first time I took an expensive part and made it fit. I'm glad it did or the wife would have been pissed. If post a pic but I don't know how.

Maybe I have my forends mixed up. But I bought what I believed to be an MCS forend at a shop outside of Toronto (east end) with a shooting range. I can't remember it's name. But the forend had two areas that could be removed on each side to run a wire and on off switch. It fit fine with my 12.5 DA barrel on my 870 but I felt the shield in front of the grip got in the way sliding it in and out of a bag. It fit with zero modifications and came with its own action bars that matched right up.

S&J has the same MCS forend on this 870.
