Maybe Donna is looking for some info or a price range on this rifle. I am going to throw out an un-informed opinion in order to build experience
with these lever action Winchester that I want to become knowledgable about. Between $1000 and $5000 depending on condition. How is that?
If 90338 is the serial number, it may have been made in the last decade of the 19th century. Some one correct me.

A few more people will chime in with experienced opinions on values to give you a better idea what to price it at when you do have access to the
Equipment Exchange here on CGN, which is a really good place to sell guns online. Pictures would help get the old timers responding. You may
need to get a photo bucket account (free) in order to attach pictures to this site. Close ups of both sides of the rifle will make it easier for us.
After you have established a price for this rifle, you will need to apply for access to the Equipment Exchange (EE) which is done on the EE page,
then there is a waiting period during which you can help things along by posting a few comments or questions in order for the moderators to get
to know you. The idea is to keep the EE a place where only nice people are allowed. I'm sure from your comment above, that you qualify.
It has a letter suffix in the serial number so wouldn't that be an 1873?
