I've got a 9.3x62 on the way, and I need to set up to reload.

I've picked up does from both RCBS and Lyman, and at the base they measure .460 and .465 respectively.

I've read a number of forum posts out there about cases getting stuck in the dies, as RCBS and Lyman both have a "reputation" for undersized 9.3x62 dies.

It being the Internet, it's likely hogwash, but the RCBS die seems to call for like a .016 spring back, and the Lyman a 0.011, which seems excessive.

I use RCBS dies for my 9.3 x 62 and never had an issue.

Since you already purchased them, I'd go ahead and use what you have; if no problem arises then there's no problem and no use looking for one.....

I've used RCBS dies since I got my first 9.3X62 and there have been no issues. I set the FL dies up for partial resizing only going to full length resizing when clambering gets a little sticky then it's back to partial.

If a case gets stuck in a die, it's usually caused by not lubing the case sufficiently.

My RCBS dies work just fine. Then again, I only neck-size.

I believe I've mentioned this in previous posts. Prior to getting my '.366 Wagner' and in anticipation of that day, at a local gun show I acquired a substantial quantity of unprimed Lapus brass and a set of RCBS dies. In addition to that set, included was a neck sizing die. The dies have worked fine, never missed a beat.

I'm using rcbs dies ,both the neck sized and the full length sizing dies , using both with 9.3x62 , 3006 , 270 and 35 whelen brass without issues .

with the full length dies ( and small base dies ) , don't forget use plenty of lube .

rcbs does make a case extraction kit .

which involves drilling and taping the primer hole and threading in a bolt to pull the case out . it would be simple enough to do without the rcbs kit

I have used my RCBS dies and made brass from 30-06 and 35 Whelen brass as well as buying a couple hundred Privi and I can feel no difference in the sizing effort and I most certainly am not knocking the Privi brass down 16 thou at the base. My rifle is of European make (CZ 550 FS) so the chamber should be to the original Euro spec and not Americanized as most Swedes are these days chambered in the US, and no doubt some 9.3X62s as well.

I have a CZ550 FS in 9.3x62. I use Redding dies, & Lapua brass. I've messed around with Lapua, Hornady, PRVI, & Speer bullets.

Thank you all for the replies.

I laid hands on some Hornady dies as well, and they measure .465. The relatively small spread is heartening.

Brass is on the way. The rifle will be another month or two.

My press etc. are still packed from moving... in 2006. I hate reloading :)
