Gp100 is bigger than Smith K frame 10 shot 617. I'm in if it were a 12 shot Gp100. Speed loaders optional, cos I don't mind spinning vinyl records anyway

price on this is gonna be around $1000 id imagine.

The frame is going to be the same size for all three only the barrel length is different.

...and that frame is a massive overkill for the .22LR cartridge.
What is your point? It isn't uncommon for revolvers are made for more than one cartridge and when revolvers were "the" handgun choice of law enforcement both Smith and Colt made .22LR versions of their service revolvers. The .22LR versions were popular in their day for use by departments who wanted to intriduce their recruits to handgun shooting with less expense than having to shoot center fire cartridges.
Here is a short list:

Colt Trooper .22LR, 38spl
S&W Combat Masterpiece .22LR, 38spl

The gun was not designed to be an overkill for the 22LR cartridge but rather to be a companion gun to the GP-100 in 39spl/.357. There is a market for such a gun and it will sell. It will be particularly of interest for companies who still use revolvers and in particular those using the GP-100. Too, a heavier frame is a lot easier to hold steady than light framed guns by most.
