best place to buy pellets and CO2 cannisters?

very cool. didn't even think of them.

regarding CO2 cartridges; is there a way to recyle/reload them? seems like such a waste once their drained.

next question coming to me is what pellets to use. are there any quality options out there that are affordable? $0.03/pellet seems pretty steep...

CO2 cartridges are not refillable -- certainly not by the average bear. As for pellets, JSB Exact round head pellets are among the best all-round pellet. PA often has them but they can be ordered online. CT pellets such as the Crosman pellets they usually stock may not be a bad choice after all since the great majority of CO2-powered airguns are not built with accuracy as a primary feature. What airgun are you using?

To find the best accuracy you need to try a bunch of pellets. I happen to mostly use JSB exacts which I get from Sniper Dan from the canadian airgun forum store as he has a good selection and good prices (and is a great guy too!). Out in BC there is Specialty shooting sports that sells a pellet sampler- lets you try a bunch of different pellets for a lot less than buying a tin of each. They are also great- I've been happy with every purchase from them.

Great prices from a supplier with integrity. But correct me if I'm wrong, he charges a bundle for shipping them. I'm 3 hours away from him. I got quotes from him, but bought elsewhere and only because of the hefty shipping quote. His shipping was in line regarding other things I bought from him.

The shipping "quote" given on the website for the CAF forum store is not a quote at all; it is a default "quote" for shipping something like a rifle. Send an email or PM to Dan with your postal code and he will send you a "quote" that reflects actual Canada Post charges.

I haven't had him ship me anything- I'm lucky enough to live relatively close so I just scoot over and pickup my loot from him. Can't go wrong with CAF or SSSO in my experience. I've done ok with scopes and ammo too. Canadian airgun scene is small and the dealers are pretty good generally.

I did that. My quotes were email correspondence.

Earlier you indicated that "he charges a bundle for shipping them." The CAF store charges what Canada Post charges for shipping -- or very close to it. That's been my experience over many orders. The "default" shipping is $40 but an email for a specific shipping cost will get what you will be charged for shipping. I hope this helps.

I have never ordered from the website. I have never used the shipping calculator. Strictly email. $17 shipping for 3 tins of pellets. A competitor farther away quoted the same at $8. at the time.

If your gun like H&N pellets, seller Nikonos on ebay is Canadian. Prices are competitive often less than USA prices, and in CDN funds!
Shipping is $8.50 for the first tin, then $0.50 for each tin after. A sleeve costs $13 to ship. 2 sleeves (20 tins) costs $18 to ship.
If you like plinking, excite econs are $5.00 CDN per tin of 500.

might be able to convert whatever it is to use 9oz refillable tanks.
There used to be 3.5/4oz tanks available for paintballers too, but they seem to have went the way of the dodo

Everyone went to high pressure air as it's cleaner and more consistent as well as cheaper in the long run on field owners. There are air tanks that range in size from 114 cu inch to 8cu in but the tanks will probably cost more than the air gun.
