Eotech loosing MOA in different temp?

Speaking of which..did you hear from a certain 0.5 guy again?

Briefly, he wanted us to come to Washington. Hopefully we can agree on a location this spring. I have access to a private range here in Ontario that was willing to accommodate a small number of shooters to facilitate this but he didn't reply when I invited him to come

OP. L3 is processing full refunds plus $15 shipping fee so in my case $911. I had 3 eotechs, sent 1 back as a trial run. I'll update the other thread on the time line/sequence of events.

Sent in my request to return form friday. We will see what happens.
It took them 72 hrs to get back to me. They will send you an authorization to return email, print it. Package them email with sight and return to the adress on the email. Then wait. From what I have heard they send you a cheque ,seems fairly straightforward

Too bad cus I really like the optic and I don't ever see my life depending on it. There are other options to explore for less $'s so a full refund will be awesome if it happens.

I agree that's why I have 3. Used them to defend my self and my brothers on the 2 way firing line. They will be fine to punch paper im sure for years to come. But a full refund for my not gently used sight is a great deal and will get me a brand new T2

Has anyone actually had an issue with theirs?
Or is this internet hype?

I'm sure the JTF2 is returning all of theirs without delay, lol.

Actually, CANSOF (and JTF2) have been looking at replacements for a while, and units that are issued Eotechs have begun withdrawing them from service as of a week or so ago. The current feeling is that the issues may sink the company. The same thing is occurring in the US, including USASOC, FBI, and several other large agencies, as well as LE departments across the country.

This is not internet hype. Eotech has known about these issues for 9 or 10 years, and have continued to attempt to hide them from end users. They realized the game was up earlier this year, when they made an SEC filing that set aside $26 million, of which they have now paid $25.6 million in an admission of guilt with regard to the lawsuit brought against them by the US Government. Eotech have also changed their manuals to reflect some of the issues. If it was internet hype, do you think that they would have done any of this, or possibly be attempting to stave off a possible class action lawsuit by offering refunds to all users at full retail price plus shipping, regardless of the condition, or if it is even working?

The issues have been known for years, whether or not some individual users actually experienced it, or more likely experienced it without realising it. I have seen plenty of owners say they have never experienced any problems, yet many of these same people find nothing unusual in having to re-zero their sights every time they take them to the range, as it has almost become a normal part of using an Eotech. That is why we have never recommended Eotechs to any of our customers, either departments or individuals, and why we only sell Aimpoints.

I'm pretty sure there will be a few fanbois along to defend their choice, but the facts remain. What is worse, is that L3/Eotech have been lying to their end users for a decade, including those that take these sights in harms way, and using that to sell them to civilian users.

How do you defend lying to people who place their lives on the line for their country, and their fellow citizens? They are lucky they are not a Chinese/North Korean company, or lawsuits against the senior management would be the least of their worries. They have a better way of dealing with treason in some countries.

Regards.

Mark

You read wrong.

According to the paperwork filed in respect of the lawsuit, and admitted to by Eotech in United States of America vs L3 Communications Eotech Inc., L3 Communications Corporation, and Paul Mangano:

http://soldiersystems.net/blog...5/11/show_temp-8.pdf

The known and concealed Eotech zero drift, due to temperature change, was as much as 6 MOA in the carbine/rifle optics, and up to 12 MOA in the support/indirect fire weapon optics.

Parallax shift at 32 degrees Fahrenheit was 12 MOA, and at 5 degrees Fahrenheit it was 20 MOA.

That is in addition to Eotech admitting that they have lied, and that they knowingly withheld the information from the government and ultimately the end users for the best part of a decade.

If you, or anyone else, want to continue to support a lying bunch of scumbags, go right ahead.

Most serious users are sending their garbage back to them for appropriate disposal.

It's not effecting me.
Why would i care?
I go off personal experience over 3rd party info thanks.

Of course if anyone here actually experienced a problem that would help too.

It isn't effecting you now, doesn't mean it can't or won't in the future. With a full refund being offered you would be foolish to not send in your optic and get your money back.

The third party info you see above has links to back it up, which means it's not third party info. Eotech is sinking, fast.

eeer no. That is not the definition of 3rd party info.
Has any one of the owners on here sending these back experienced zero drift?
