I'm looking for some opinions from you all

i have decided i want a sig for my first restricted,i have narrowed it down to either

the 226 MK 25 (love the way this looks out of them all)

the Sig Equinox in either 220 or 226

or the P320.

I haven't been able to find much talk about the Equinox, the style and colors i think look great though

I like the 320 is striker but the trigger definitely feels different and lots of reviews talk about how it hurts after continuous use, picking it up at the dealer doesn't really allow for that

i'm torn, do i spend the extra 300$ and go for the all metal 220 or 226, i think eventually i will own them all, but i wanna start it off right.

Interested to hear what you guys think. I would be shooting a lot in the winter which also makes me wonder more about the 320 trigger.

If you have an interest in SIGs, and you think you will collect them all then you have to start with either the 220 or the 226 first.
The 320 is SIG "Lite", not in line with what SIGs are all about.
Make the Mk.25 your first. You won't regret it. SIGs were my favorite DA/SA auto pistols until I discovered the SP-01, but I digress!

If you've settled on Sig, I'd agree with Still alive and suggest you go for a 226 mk25 in 9mm, if only because 9mm is cheaper and better to learn with. All practicality aside, I prefer the feel of the single stack 220. The Equinox is a nice package.

get the 226 first. get the German, avoid the u.s.
320 is a very different line of Sig. polymer frame and striker.

If you're willing to buy used and not dead set on an equinox try to find a P220 9mm. Single stack grip with economical ammo. I've been looking for one and gave up....going with a CZ75 of some variety.

the sig elite stainless is very nice. You'd probably find the wood grips too thick, in the p226. I'd replace them.

Go with the enhanced elite if you don't mind the alloy frame.

If you go with the MK 25, see if you can send it to MD Charlton for the short reset trigger.

My thoughts.

the 10/18 or 10/20 P226 mags are nice on the fingers for loading. (irunguns)

After having shot a few different handguns I fell in love with a 226 elite this spring, and just purchased a second. I am sure that you would not be disappointed with a Mk.25.

That being said I am not a fan of polymer frames, but just my preference.

Good advice. (P220 owner here)

Can't comment on the P220, but I have a P226 Combat with SRT, and a P320, both in 9mm. I too once said I'd never have a polymer gun - until I tried the P320, it's a very nice piece right out of the box. But I still prefer the P226 Combat, just seems to fit me better.

get the 226 first. get the German, avoid the u.s. No longer a valid argument. I have had at least 3 of each (220, 226 and M11A1), latest production is on par.

OP, most important thing is how well it fits in your hand. 220 is very slim, perfect if you have small hands. 226 is the standard.
IMHO, the MK25 is overpriced for what you get (Cool Aid factor, unless you will be facing salt water). Get one that comes with a SRT, the most important thing to look for with Night Sights.

P220 match elite

It's a serious hunk of steel. I never liked Sigs until someone convinced me to put one of those in my hand. Makes a 1911 feel like a toy lol.

One of the most accurate pistols I own

I would pick the P320, unless you are specifically looking for a challenge. DA/SA is probably the most difficult auto pistol trigger action to master (other than DAO).

locally the mk.25 is the same price if not cheaper for the other ones i was looking at, Equinox 1200, mk25 1100, 226 plain jane like 1100 so the cost really doesnt sway me one way or the other, the elite on the other hand is 1500 and these are all pretax totals, im assuming a SRT is easily done on a mk25 or any sig for that matter, what would the cost be? personally i feel like the elite (which comes with the srt already) is something i would buy a little further ahead after i've put enough lead into something like the mk25, and like i said i really do love the way the mk25 looks, i have no problem putting some extra $s into it to make it even better. I however have decided that the 320 is out of the running for being the first, so im certain ill be getting the mk25.

Can't go wrong with either one, enjoy! These are, for as much reason as any other, "feel good" purchases so get the one that makes you feel good lol.

Dude, If you can snatch a MK25 at 1100$, do it, no question asked! You can find a SRT for less than 100$ tx and shipped. Install is easy, takes 10 mins and no special tools. Youtube has 100's of good videos on how to install.

I appreciate your desire to get a SIG as your first restricted. However since you profess to be a newbie at the restricted game, I would strongly suggest that you start out with a 22LR pistol. It's the best and the cheapest way to learn the basics of handgun shooting. Good luck....

I will echo kidcoms advice, 3 replies above. If you want a Sig get the .22lr 226 for 600CAD. You can then buy xchange kits for 300 to 400CAD in 9mm, .40 or .357 Sig. More bang(s) for your buck and the .22lr lets your pour rounds down range and really get your drills and accuracy nailed down before spending alot more on more grown up sized ammo.
