It is 45ACP, so yes. It would a handy thing to have for hunting something or other. Feral cat defence. You can cycle the bolt with the stock folded.
This is more practical for discreet bear defence, though:

Not much I got the gun for 70 at a gun show and just used old fittings I had. The gun shoots fine but has seen better days

One of the weapons in the latest incarnation is a customizable "pipe rifle". The Fallout series are immensely popular so it's not surprising to see it inspire some creative modifications.

This appears to be a real model but looks identical to the in-game one:

Can't quite see the proof markings on the iron fittings, but it looks like an all matching number rifle
