My review of amazon's $38 red dot from "ohuhu" - a Chinese kitchen gadget maker

My review of a $38 red dot amazon.ca product from "ohuhu" - a Chinese kitchen gadget company...

Stuck it on a shotgun purchased from a fellow 'nutz member...

Received the product in good working order. Overall fit and finish is nice. I was mostly concerned about being able to use this on a real firearm as generally inexpensive red dots are relegated to air soft etc.

Mounted the site without issue to the rail on a Fabarm 14" Martial 12 gauge shotgun. I was very pleasantly surprised especially since my expectations for this site were not high. I fully expected the site to fail altogether and or not hold zero when used with a shotgun, however the site performed flawlessly.

I successfully zeroed it in at 17 yards with 4 shots of 2 3/4" rifled slugs, then proceeded to fire a further 60 rounds consisting of slugs, 00 buck and #6 birdshot down the range.

During all of this, the site held zero and held it across all 4 reticles as well as when changing from red to green and back.

I would highly recommend this product. For the price it can't be beat. The reticles are easily selected and the leds both red and green have ample brightness to be seen easily in broad daylight.

How can you go wrong for $38?

Keep us posted on long term use. I used to rock DX scopes.....had a Fakepoint Micro that lasted thousands of rounds with .22lr, and maybe 20 rounds of 5.56. Bought three of them.....finally got tired of buying replacements and ended up getting a real Micro....hard pill to swallow spending that much money.

Also had a 5-25x50mm that lasted me about 5 rounds of 7.62. I used to swear by these optics, even considered anyone spending more than $100 a chump for paying big money on name brand optics when you could get the same performance and reliability for far less. I have a slightly different opinion on these now.

I actually bought a 2nd one this week because the first one has been so good. Also note the other reviews from people with various firearms including ars etc are all good. For playing around with this is a great little unit for no $$$$.

Handled slug after slug without issue.

Trust me, I was literally preaching to people how awesome my Fakepoint was, and how I was fine having a no-name clone red dot on my Mfogery (Norinco CQ-A).
