I am looking to get a auto ordnance m1 carbine on standard stock ans also on para version.
Anyone have a good link for a good dealer having them in stock.

Thanks

Just bought one. It was fukced. Multiple fail to feeds. Sometimes wouldn't even strip a round from the magazines before locking to battery. 78 rounds fired about 25 fail to feeds with both mags. Back to North Sylva it went.

Buy at your own risk. These rifles are known to be problematic with the magazines. SFRC and Bullseye have some M1's I think.

On a positive note I love the .30 carbine round in a carbine. Very excellent combination. I had alot of fun shooting my M1 even though it ran like #### before I sent it back to get fixed.

A AO para arrived yesterday, was like a kid at christmas - i just lost my ####, grabbin all my pouches and ammo bags then i noticed the problems...

I had called beforehand to verify it was in fact "new" and wasn't an old run possibly with errors. The mag is beat to hell, floorplate jammed inside - got it out but it's no good,

then the stock - omf - the pistol grip is sloppy as hell, turning left and right as it's not fitted properly. the few degrees at the grip make the barrel flop 3-4 in at the muzzle.

I've called AO to confirm the date of production as it does'nt seem new at all - looks like a floor model with handling marks - and i have a feeling it's a few years old.

this rifle will be headed back to the dealer as soon as i get some info from the manufacturer. bad taste in my mouth and the policy is i pay shipping upon return - for an unsafe, pos rifle - not impressed :(

Still waiting for mine from North Sylva. Had it close to 6 weeks now. My M1's fit and finish was good. It looked great out of the box. However like I said in my previous post it was a jam-omatic not a semi automatic. Even after all these years of making them AO is still putting out alot of bad ones it seems.

bought the para model last Christmas shot around 500 round with it with no problem , only the after market mag i got dont always feed because they seat a little lower , had to adjust the lip a little

the only problem is the ammo that is quite hard to find , if tula ammo can finally have them in stock again it been a year since they are out of stock ...

Good luck with all the sanctions against russia.

Haven't had a problem sourcing ammo, try Wanstalls - i got 4 boxes locally 35$ a box, some say its exp but i can pull the trigger 50x instead of 20 for just a few dollars more.

love these, hope it works out or im goin after a res and swapping the barrel.

Mine has been ok so far. The op rod spring seems a tad weak. The malfunctions I did get were all related to one magazine (which came with the rifle). A replacement solved the problem. I wish there were some decent shape GI mags in country--apparently they are the best for post war carbines.

Ammo is easy to find here. Every shop carries .30 carbine around here. Like yourself I am awaiting a shipment of Tula as well. I just don't know whether it is quality stuff or not.

Mine had a bit of problems feeding early on until I fooled around with the mag lips. That fixed most issues. I then got some US made 5 round mags from Brownwell (if I recall correctly) and they work fine. My rifle is well made and a hoot to shoot. I have been shooting the Tula stuff.

My Para Carbine has functioned 100% for just over 300 rounds thus far. By no means a "torture test", but then again, it does bode well for the future of my particular AO/Kahr carbine. Better yet, it was zeroed for 50m right out of the box and is a joy to shoot. I am using a combination of mil-surp 5/20 and after-market 5/30 magazines, all without issue. All in all, my non-restricted AO M1 Carbine has been an excellent purchase in terms of value for money. I am sorry to hear that there are QC issues with some of the AO carbines. Happily, you would never know it from mine!
