.270 vs .308 ?

I meant mine aren't improving my ### life. Do I call the warranty department, or the ammunition manufacturer?

Thank God that's only your opinion, my two 308s do nothing for me...

I dunno you two.... I have a couple. 308's that are pretty cute, but I have always been attracted to the short, curvy ones... after three straight days of rain up on "the coast", I might be tempted to take a poke with the one pictured in the middle below;

If you bought them off of a site sponsor and are not completely satisfied that they stimulated your libido and turned you into a cross between the Old Spice guy and the World's most interesting man, true forum etiquette dictates that you open a complaint thread in the sponsor's forum.

"Dear sponsor X, I recently purchased a .308 from your business and was extremely disappointed to discover that it has done nothing to improve my libido or my appeal to my significant other. As such, I would like to have my purchase refunded in full or to receive store credit that I can put towards a .375 H&H"

Narrowed it down to a .270 or .308 for my next project rifle, Tikka T3 action and barrel, now…which calibre?? primary use will be W/T deer, the odd yote..Just need some advice between the two.

.270 because it is legal to shoot anywhere and it is powerful and accurate with a great BC.

I will be honest.... I own a .270..... A Rossi single shot I bought off of caramel.....

I give it credit to one thing, it is an excellent back up for any of my other rifles..... It accompanies me on hunts where I might have a FTF , drop my rifle, or something unaccounted for happens..... It's a 250 dollar insurance policy that ensures I can continue my hunt....

So all ribbing aside, it's certainly a very versatile caliber.......

I've found it's easier to bring about death with a .270 at 300 to 500 yards than a .308. I've found zero difference when the bullet actually enters the animal. The same applies to a .357 magnum however. If mountains or prairies aren't in your future, it really doesn't matter, if they are, it really does.

After long enough in the bush a guy will take anything he can get. The key is to remove the temptations.

They've trying to better it since 1923. Not much luck so far.

It just isn't any fun.... And constantly adjusting or changing an optic for versatility sucks....... You could hunt almost everything with a fleet of them....

I prefer to live in the "real world", where I need a separate caliber for everything...... :)
