So many rail covers, most look alright, like they would do the job of covering the rail.
But the devil is to be expected in the details.
So which ones do you like and why?
Looking forward to gaining some insight on the subject so big thanks in advance to all contributors.

If it's quad rails and they're kinda beefy like the MK18, I prefer low profile ladder covers as regular panel covers make it more difficult to get a solid grip on it if you have smaller hands. On a slimmer profile rail like the OmegaX, I have the older Ergo rubberized panels. On my BCM keymod handguard, I really like the BCM keymod grip panels.

I only have KAC now, so they get my vote. I find ladder not to be enough to protect from the heat of my MK18 upper and as much as I liked Magpul XTM feel they are a pain in the ass to switch around.
The KAC have two weakness tho:
- first they clip only at certain spots on certain rails; a recess on the side is necessary, my KAC M5 RAS and DD MK18 RISII both have these on the first slot all around.
- second you need to buy the proper lenght rail cover (anywhere between 2 and 11 "ribs"), they get pricey if you pay MSRP for them, but can be had for cheap on ebay or the EE.

Interesting but I could not find any reviews of this product on the Brownells site.
Wondering if you could help answer a couple questions?
Are these flexible or tight fitting?
How are the locks? Secure, in that it will not unlock on its own? Effective, in that it will keep the cover from moving on the rail?

These fit tight when locked in place. You release the latch and slide them on and then lock it down. They are made of hard plastic and have a nice texture but does add some thickness. Check this out:

I prefer the ladder rail style covers. Have tried real ones from Ergo and Magpul and found little difference between the cheap ones from ebay as well. Have a ton of them in various colors now, and you can cut them to whatever lengths you need to get maximum uniform coverage on all your unused rail sections as well.

Magpul ladder rail covers are made by Ergo. But, no name clones are made just as we'll for a fraction of the cost. $15 for a Magpul/Ergo ladder rail that take 2 sec to inject and cost about $0.02 to make is a ripoff.
